Patient joined the conference <6:43:05 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor joined the conference <6:43:06 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: okay <6:43:19 PM> Paul Hershberger: you can go ahead and start <6:43:26 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: right so James you told me a little bit about how you drink a little bit more on the weekends so can you kind of walk me through what a typical weekend looks like for you <6:43:34 PM> James Rogers - Patient: um yeah I mean wake up Saturday morning you know kind of get the kids taken care of and then I would say once we kind of get them off to their activities for the weekend all kind of you know I'll open up a pack <6:43:48 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: okay so that could be anywhere in the morning the afternoon evening or are those kind of spread out through the day your drinks <6:43:57 PM> James Rogers - Patient: um they start in the morning and then they're pretty consistent even you know even once the kids get back you know they can kind of take care of themselves get themselves to bed so I kind of it's definitely kind of like an all-day thing <6:44:06 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: a totally understand um <6:44:14 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: if you had a gauge about how long would you say that um that's kind of typically what your weekends have looked like as far as you know having a pack <6:44:20 PM> James Rogers - Patient: oh man um <6:44:26 PM> James Rogers - Patient: it's probably been 10 years I mean as long as I've had this new job you know probably about 10 years at least <6:44:26 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: okay so about 10 years so if you had to pinpoint kind of like a transition between you just having a few drinks here and there and to increase it on the weekends is there any specific event that you can kind of remember that <6:44:33 PM> James Rogers - Patient: kind of been my normal <6:44:48 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: you know maybe related to the to your increase in drinking on the weekends <6:44:50 PM> James Rogers - Patient: you know I don't remember like you know it wasn't like one day it kind of happened but you know I think that especially like you know all the boys like we're getting older you know we got kids weeks are busy you know got to manage School obviously got to get to the office and so weekends are just a time that we can like you know get together you know not all of them like to drink but you know it's the weekend I like to you know they have been bugged me about it so <6:44:53 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: okay so if you had to kind of assess what drinking is kind of in your life what would you would you consider it like a stress reliever what would you kind of consider drinking to be for you <6:45:28 PM> James Rogers - Patient: oh for sure for sure stress reliever like again like something that I do you know it's like never it's definitely never interfered like with work or anything again like I don't drink during the week you know if I wanted to I could just stop but <6:45:44 PM> James Rogers - Patient: on the weekends it's time to relax you know you know kids get out of the house for a little bit don't have to worry about going into the office you know so definitely definitely a stress reliever for sure <6:45:46 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: okay um <6:45:57 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: so we're drinking as you say it kind of being a bit of a stress reliever tell me about some of the the stressors that you currently have in your life <6:46:05 PM> James Rogers - Patient: um you know it's nothing crazy nothing acute I think kind of the regular stuff that a lot of people get with life you know I mean obviously being in the office all day during the week it builds it builds up stress you know I'm not in like financial trouble or anything but we've all got bills you know and the kids obviously they're great love them to death but you know they rally up sometimes and you gotta <6:46:06 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: mm-hmm <6:46:23 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: yeah no I definitely understand so um from hearing your ride it seems like <6:46:30 PM> James Rogers - Patient: know sometimes you want to you want to punish them but you can't so kind of hold it until the weekend and then just go let out let out a little bit of stress with the boys you know <6:46:46 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: sometimes during the week you know dealing with kids and then here and there with your job can cause you a little bit more stress and on the weekends you have a bit more relief when you're able to get you a couple drinks here and there is that correct <6:46:52 PM> James Rogers - Patient: oh for sure <6:46:59 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: Okay so <6:47:00 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: I know we talked about you usually doing a pack so on average about how many drinks would you say that you're consuming over the course of one weekend <6:47:08 PM> James Rogers - Patient: um I mean it's a pack on Saturday it's a pack on Sunday the packs there's like there's like I don't know like eight cans in their eight or ten <6:47:09 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: error 10 cans okay and about how do you feel usually after consuming you know the two packs of the eight or ten cans <6:47:21 PM> James Rogers - Patient: yeah <6:47:24 PM> James Rogers - Patient: um <6:47:32 PM> James Rogers - Patient: you know <6:47:32 PM> James Rogers - Patient: I mean I have a I have a good time you know I have a good time out you know during the end it's hard for me to tell you because I don't always remember what's going on at the end of the day I got good buddies you know they always make sure I get home safe and stuff and <6:47:34 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: yeah <6:47:48 PM> James Rogers - Patient: know I I know when I can get myself home you know even if I've had some you know I can drive you know it's never an issue so <6:47:57 PM> James Rogers - Patient: but it's hard to end of the day I don't always know <6:47:59 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: oh I'm glad to hear it sounds like you have some Port some support from your friends and your buddies <6:48:08 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: do you feel like you have that say or it kind of describe the level of support that you may have at home whether that be from your wife or your family do you feel like they also are supportive <6:48:20 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: on the weekends when you may have two packs or so of your alcohol <6:48:25 PM> James Rogers - Patient: um you know the wife doesn't love it um but she doesn't you know she kind of gives me my space you know I mean she drinks too she drinks during the week you know and on the weekends not as much as I do on the weekends she's definitely a little bit more of a rock she's more of like a glass or two a day type of gal and she's like mentioned it before on some of the days that it's been a little bit much but I mean I support from her obviously you know where we're taking care of the house and the kids together <6:48:25 PM> James Rogers - Patient: you know <6:49:01 PM> James Rogers - Patient: my parents live in another state so that's not really a thing you know that I really think about you know they don't really <6:49:07 PM> James Rogers - Patient: I don't see them much <6:49:09 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: okay so it sounds like you and your wife seemed to be similar on the same page kind of concerned you're drinking but she drinks a bit more during the week than you would say that you do and you kind of do most of your drinking on the back end on the weekend is that correct <6:49:21 PM> James Rogers - Patient: yeah yeah because I don't drink it all during the week and you know she doesn't I don't think yeah I don't drink it all during the week just the weekends and you know the wife she <6:49:24 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: oh you don't drink it all <6:49:29 PM> James Rogers - Patient: I I can't even remember the last time she got drunk you know like she's you know when I say during the week it's not like she's leaving me stranded with the kids or anything you know she's she's there too you know <6:49:35 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: yeah yeah <6:49:40 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: okay so for a second if you could just kind of Imagine or just think about what your life could look like if you didn't drink on the weekends what would you what would you say that would look like for you <6:49:52 PM> James Rogers - Patient: um <6:49:52 PM> James Rogers - Patient: probably <6:49:58 PM> James Rogers - Patient: that is fun hard to say I don't know how the evenings would be different because again I can't always remember the evenings but you know early in the day you know after the kids get out and it's kind of you know let's say like 10:30 11 I pop that first one open you know I just know it's going to be a I just know that I'm gonna have a good rest of my day you know <6:50:16 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: yeah no I totally understand <6:50:23 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: how often in the last year do you think you've <6:50:26 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: found yourself not being able to pick up a drink on the weekends <6:50:31 PM> James Rogers - Patient: like how often have I not drink on a weekend <6:50:32 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: oh yeah if you've ever attempted not to pick up a drink have you attempted that recently or have you found that difficult <6:50:39 PM> James Rogers - Patient: oh no that would be horrible yeah that'd be horrible that'd be horrible yeah <6:50:45 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: horrible not to pick up a drink on the weekends okay <6:50:47 PM> Paul Hershberger: I'm gonna go ahead and stop you here <6:50:49 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: okay <6:50:49 PM> James Rogers - Patient: okay <6:50:51 PM> Paul Hershberger: yeah <6:50:51 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Doctor: the same to you you're awesome <6:50:52 PM> James Rogers - Patient: great work ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at Apr 29, 2025, 6:51:00 PM
