Doctor joined the conference <7:02:34 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient joined the conference <7:02:34 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: yeah I mean I was kind of hoping <7:02:34 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: that <7:02:35 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: up alrighty well now that we kind of have gone through your meds and stuff I just want to talk about how things have been going for you how things been with the medication especially after that dose increase a couple months back <7:03:02 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: would help me out a little bit more but I haven't really seen a huge shift in my mood I'm still really tired all the time like I still don't really have a ton of motivation to kind of get out of the bed like I wake up in the morning and I just kind of want to lay around like I really don't want to go to work <7:03:21 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: maybe that has something to do with like you know me kind of struggling and you know not getting your promotion and <7:03:28 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: I <7:03:28 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: I don't know it just <7:03:31 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: hoping that it would be kind of like the the magic fix-all and it really it really doesn't seem to be helping as much as I could to <7:03:38 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: hmm um so obviously you know I'm glad that you're taking the medication and hopefully it's been helping you out but it does seem like you know there's some other things going on is there anything else that you've been trying what are some of the other things you've been trying to help out with your mood if you have been trying anything <7:03:40 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: I mean I haven't necessarily like when out of my way to try anything specific but <7:04:03 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: I mean I've tried a new skincare routine because I know like my appearance um like helped me feel better <7:04:11 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: about like the way I look if I'm you know proud of that version of me I usually have a better mood and better attitude <7:04:18 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: um I joined a church so I thought that maybe that would <7:04:23 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: you know help out if I kind of you know developed a relationship with God I thought maybe that would <7:04:28 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: okay I think it's awesome that you've you know kind of joined that church just communities always a great thing you know I think that's like really I mean it shows that you're taking these steps right you know that you're like focusing on this you know earlier you mentioned kind of feeling like you don't even want to get out of bed but I want you to know that at least from my perspective like it sounds like you're doing you know you're taking an active role you know so you should be proud of that one thing I noticed in the med record is that we had given you a couple months back a referral just for some Mental Health Services have you have you seen those <7:04:30 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: help but that <7:04:32 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: it still hasn't given me the results that I hope so that's yeah that's pretty much what I've tried <7:04:39 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: I think <7:05:06 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: I'm not <7:05:06 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: yeah um I've seen those I honestly kind of forgotten about them and I wasn't quite sure that like my insurance would cover it so I hadn't really looked a ton into it I mean I've heard of counseling before <7:05:30 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: really sure if that's necessarily for me because yeah like I'm I'm depressed but I don't really think I need to like talk to anybody about it like it's <7:05:30 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: yeah <7:05:39 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: I don't think it's that bad to the point where I think I have to go like sit down in front of a shrink or anything and <7:05:46 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: them tell me what's wrong with me I don't know if I need that <7:05:48 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: yeah you said you don't feel like it's that bad what is the bad that would be that would make you think that maybe it was for you you know what type of things do you think that these services are for <7:05:49 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: oh I was kind of thought they were for like people that like <7:06:05 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: know just really needed help like people that <7:06:05 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: you know <7:06:08 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: maybe didn't want to be here anymore and we're like trying to take ways to get out like I don't feel that way at all I'm not suicidal or anything um <7:06:17 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: I don't know I don't know if they could help me they don't really know much about my life so I mean they can give me advice but <7:06:23 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: you know do they truly understand what it is that I'm feeling or going through I just don't know if that if that would be helpful for me <7:06:27 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: he <7:06:32 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: you know <7:06:33 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: yeah <7:06:33 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: what <7:06:35 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: what's what's sort of the help that you're you know when you say that you don't know if that's what it helps for you what is sort of the help for you what's kind of the help that you're looking for <7:06:39 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: honestly <7:06:49 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: I had to pick something like I think it's just like my job I mean my job is really getting to me lately like it's you know it's it's how I you know find my life and have to pay for my bills and I think it's the stress of that is really kind of getting to me <7:07:04 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: it maybe <7:07:04 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: I don't know maybe <7:07:06 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: time for a change maybe it's time to you know try a new career or get a new job because that mean that's I mean I wake up every day like dreading to go to that job and then like while I'm there at the job I <7:07:20 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: absolutely dreaded while I'm there and when I go home my mood is lightened I feel happier because I'm not so <7:07:23 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: mm-hmm <7:07:27 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: down by you know the thought of this dead-end job and maybe not going anywhere <7:07:35 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: what sort of changes to your job do you feel like would help you out <7:07:40 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: what sort of changes are you looking for I guess is what I'm trying to ask <7:07:43 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: oh yeah I mean <7:07:48 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: but I don't <7:07:51 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: it might just be the environment I mean I don't I don't feel like I have a lot of support there <7:07:54 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: mm-hmm <7:07:57 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: I like my boss is always on me about deadlines I don't really have any friends <7:08:04 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: to just go in and do my job they'll they'll go out for drinks after hours without me no one ever asked me to join anything the holiday parties <7:08:13 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: I never get invited to so it's just not a very welcoming environment for me I would say <7:08:16 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: mm-hmm <7:08:19 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: so yeah not not having any support there it's kind of <7:08:23 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: I understand that and you know definitely want to focus on that job <7:08:23 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: and <7:08:23 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: why I'm just not the biggest fan of my job <7:08:33 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: is concerned that you have one question I do have is <7:08:38 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: what are your thoughts on <7:08:40 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: bringing up these concerns with somebody more specialized in the mental health field <7:08:47 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: what does that look like for you <7:08:47 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: does <7:08:50 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: that sound like an option <7:08:51 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: I mean I'm not doctor here so obviously you probably know a bit more about this than I do so <7:08:59 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: it's something that I could look into so if the meds don't seem to work at any point if this is like the highest dose that I can go on and like this is maybe the lashes or it I think it's something that I could be interested in but <7:09:13 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: I think I'd have to fill out whoever it is that I'm talking to first kind of get a good feel about if they're going to be a good fit for me <7:09:20 PM> James Rogers - Doctor: yeah and you know I feel like it's kind of one of those things you know I love being your doctor and I don't want you to think that these conversations that I don't want to have them for you I don't want to just be somebody that fills out a med for you and sends you out the door but just like how if you broke your arm I'd need to send you to somebody who's a specialist to help out with your arm you know I do have concerns that this is one of those you know special things that are referral is just going to be able to help you out more than I can you know and I have personal relationships with these people that I refer out to obviously you don't have to love the ones that I do but you know what is it sound like to you in the same way that I would refer to Ortho you know referring to somebody you know who's this a mood doctor you know how does that sound <7:09:53 PM> Jaliyah Spann - Patient: oh honestly I don't when you put it that way I think I might be more willing to do it because I mean you've been my doctor for years and I've always felt like I could talk to you about whatever it out whatever it is I was going through so anyone that you recommend I think is also gonna give me the same level of care that you have over the years <7:10:17 PM> Paul Hershberger: was was that here ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at Apr 29, 2025, 7:10:34 PM
