Patient: um yeah so <3:05:41 PM> Tate Barney - Doctor: all right Rahul so now that we've gotten through everything with your work physical I did notice on your paperwork that you marked that you've been drinking pretty heavily on the weekends do you mind telling me more about that <3:05:59 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: just drinks after work on Fridays and Saturdays with the work the guys at work while watching the game just you know food drinks and just a good time <3:06:13 PM> Tate Barney - Doctor: all right and when you go out for drinks with your co-workers is there like a rough estimate of how many drinks you're having at one time <3:06:20 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: um <3:06:22 PM> Tate Barney - Doctor: how do you feel this is impacted your life <3:06:23 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: we tend to party pretty hard you know after a long week you know work hard play hard that kind of thing so I'll probably say <3:06:30 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: 10 to 12 Beers maybe a couple shots of whiskey <3:06:35 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: a couple <3:06:37 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: lots of vodka <3:06:38 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: I'm not really I mean I I've hasn't really impacted it at all I mean I <3:06:50 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: I'm doing great at work boss and co-workers love me we all get along <3:06:52 PM> Tate Barney - Doctor: how do you feel after a night out with your co-workers on the weekends <3:06:56 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: I don't feel like <3:06:59 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: back to my home life I have a great relationship with my wife my kids <3:07:05 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: got any trouble with the with the law so I don't feel like it's really impacting my life that much <3:07:11 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: I guess <3:07:11 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: um <3:07:19 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: I'm in the midst of it it feels great like you know when Friday night rolls around and we pulled up to the bar and we're watching the game and drinking it's great <3:07:22 PM> Tate Barney - Doctor: what impact do you feel like this has on your family when you're not feeling great on the weekends <3:07:28 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: and you know I end up going to bed waking up Saturday Saturday is kind of <3:07:34 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: it's a 50/50 on like how I feel when I wake up in the morning sometimes I'll feel fine and sat and like I can be Funk like I can work and do everything I need to on Saturday sometimes maybe I'll go a little too hard and the weekend it's kind of <3:07:51 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: but <3:07:51 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: it's kind of a blur just because I'm recovering <3:07:55 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: feel like that's few and far between <3:08:00 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: um <3:08:05 PM> Tate Barney - Doctor: how does it make you feel when your wife or your kids are frustrated with you <3:08:07 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: sometimes I feel like my wife kind of <3:08:12 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: like she drinks a little bit but not to the extent that I do and I feel like sometimes she can get kind of frustrated which which I get but again it doesn't happen <3:08:23 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: to the point where it's like debilitating to our relationship and my kids also sometimes they can <3:08:31 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: get a little frustrated with me but again as I said it's I feel like it's a pretty rare thing so it's not too worrying to me <3:08:40 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: yes um <3:08:44 PM> Tate Barney - Doctor: well I'm hearing that it's important for you to spend time with your friends de-stress after work hang out with your co-workers what other things have you tried to de-stress outside of work <3:08:46 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: I kind of feel like <3:08:50 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: I I kind of understand like where they come from but at the same time because it happens so infrequently <3:08:58 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: when it does happen like I mean I get where they're coming from like but <3:09:04 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: I don't know I just want them to understand like work is like really stressful like work is like stressful but I'm doing well and like this is just a way for me to kind of relax and just enjoy some time with you know the my friends <3:09:16 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: um <3:09:32 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: during the week I mean usually in the evenings my walk a little bit around the neighborhood and then <3:09:32 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: like <3:09:42 PM> Tate Barney - Doctor: it <3:09:42 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: maybe occasionally maybe I'll go to the gym once every other week twice every other week <3:09:51 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: I feel like I'm just so busy with work that during the week it's kind of tough and that pockets of time that I have on the weekends Fridays and Saturdays <3:09:51 PM> Tate Barney - Doctor: how would you feel about incorporating more walks and time at the gym and time with family after work and on the weekends <3:10:00 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: I just like that's the time where I can really de-stress and hang out <3:10:13 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: um <3:10:14 PM> Tate Barney - Doctor: so I'm hearing that your time with friends and not feeling alienated at work might be more important to you <3:10:17 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: I would be I'd be fine with it I just I don't want to alienate my friends and like <3:10:24 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: I don't I don't want to sacrifice hanging out with them because they are like really important to me and like they also are like okay they're really important to me and I just I don't want to take that time away that I spend with them <3:10:50 PM> Tate Barney - Doctor: how do you feel about that <3:10:52 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: um I would say it is important to me <3:10:57 PM> Tate Barney - Doctor: so on a scale of one to ten not ready to change drinking at all time you're really ready to make a change with drinking where do you fall on that scale <3:10:58 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: yeah I would say it's pretty important to me but <3:11:02 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: yeah I mean as you mentioned before incorporating more walks I are time with family that's definitely something I could I'd be open to <3:11:23 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: ah Sam kind of <3:11:23 PM> Tate Barney - Doctor: put together what makes you not fall lower than a five on that scale <3:11:27 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: it's a matter of five <3:11:36 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: um <3:11:38 PM> Tate Barney - Doctor: oh what would help you to get higher on that scale <3:11:40 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: of I guess when I am like <3:11:44 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: which is <3:11:44 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: when the weekend is blur and like I see my family's frustration that it kind of hurts a little bit <3:11:52 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: why I don't think I'm lower on that scale <3:11:56 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: yeah <3:12:04 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: um maybe like <3:12:07 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: conversations with friends that pay <3:12:11 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: can't go out every weekend or maybe if I do go out <3:12:17 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: not <3:12:19 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: maybe like just kind of balancing that not going out every weekend <3:12:23 PM> Rahul Manne - Patient: yeah <3:12:25 PM> Paul Hershberger: will stop here <3:12:27 PM> Tate Barney - Doctor: so ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at May 1, 2025, 3:12:35 PM
