Patient joined the conference <3:26:27 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor joined the conference <3:26:27 PM> Paul Hershberger joined the conference <3:26:28 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: okay say I understand that you have a lot of medications on your list <3:26:48 PM> Tate Barney - Patient: well you guys just keep adding new ones on every time I come in here I'm getting sick and tired of taking all these medications you've got me taken some in the morning I got to take Summit night you're having me inject one of the medications it's just it's too much <3:26:50 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: how has that been going <3:27:04 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: okay well I'm sorry you feel that way <3:27:08 PM> Tate Barney - Patient: well I've been on the cholesterol pill for a really long time and then I've been on two blood pressure medications for a couple of years now and then you guys just diagnosed me with diabetes so I'm on Metformin now twice a day and then I'm injecting some of glutes as well like that was within the last six months so that's been it's just been a pain taking all these medications I haven't really been taking them at 4 and very often it's giving me diarrhea I'm not a fan of it so I mean I don't know I feel like we need to stop taking these medications or I don't know I'm just getting really sick and tired of being on this many <3:27:11 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: when did you feel like it began to be too much and have you always had this frustration <3:27:20 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: uh-huh <3:27:41 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: okay okay <3:28:02 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: um no I definitely understand how having this many medications and taking them all at different times or <3:28:10 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: different like different modes like some You Take by mouth some even direct you can definitely be frustrating and totally understand you there <3:28:19 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: one possibility that we could do is we can go through your medication list and see if there's any changes that can be made to help you try to cut down all the number of medications that something that we could do <3:28:35 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: just to clarifying question do you understand how to take all of your medications <3:28:37 PM> Tate Barney - Patient: yeah they showed me how to take all of them I've got them written down they're all on the bottles <3:28:46 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: uh-huh <3:28:46 PM> Tate Barney - Patient: you know it's just like I'm having a really hard time remembering to take all of them because they're so many of them my daughter got me this pill box and she fills it up and then I'll forget to fill it up so there's just too many of them it's too hard to take and to remember to take all of them all the time <3:29:01 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: okay <3:29:05 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: okay that's it sounds like you have a pill box that your daughter helps you with <3:29:10 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: um <3:29:13 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: what things are kind of preventing you or what barriers do you have to kind of <3:29:23 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: let's fill that pill box after your daughter does it <3:29:25 PM> Tate Barney - Patient: he looks like <3:29:28 PM> Tate Barney - Patient: I just forget <3:29:30 PM> Tate Barney - Patient: just forgot to fill it I'll take the last one in the box and then I mean to fill it up and then I mean I'm working right now too so I just I just don't remember to fill the pill bottle back up after she does it for me <3:29:32 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: okay okay <3:29:45 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: worth taking up a lot of time for you <3:29:47 PM> Tate Barney - Patient: yeah I'm working full-time too so taking the medications a couple different times a day has been hard because I don't always have the same schedule at work so all of it's just been a lot and I'd really like to cut down on the medication <3:29:52 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: okay okay so I was like work is a lot <3:30:07 PM> Tate Barney - Patient: I mean my daughter says that she has a reminder set on her phone I don't know how to do that on mine but it would be something that I could probably do and then I have lunch at the same time every day <3:30:07 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: what <3:30:12 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: are there any pockets of time throughout the day where you feel like you maybe a set time every day that you can refill the pill box or maybe there's one so one time in a week that you can do that <3:30:38 PM> Tate Barney - Patient: so <3:30:38 PM> Tate Barney - Patient: so it might be something where I can just take all of the pills at lunch but then I still have to take some of them at night <3:30:46 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: okay okay sounds like you have the reminder set on your phone which is a great start that is definitely something that we can continue with <3:30:47 PM> Tate Barney - Patient: is hard to make sure that I get all of them in <3:31:01 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: um <3:31:05 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: but yeah <3:31:08 PM> Tate Barney - Patient: well when I they were okay at first until I started having to take the diabetes medication and that's just been been too much to have all of the diabetes medications added on I was okay with the other ones for a while but now with this new diabetes diagnosis just become a lot <3:31:09 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: how do you think having all these medications has kind of impacted your life <3:31:34 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: okay what's going on with that why do you feel like it's become a lot with the new medication <3:31:41 PM> Tate Barney - Patient: well like the matte Foreman I've been having diarrhea on the metformin so I don't want to take them at for me because it doesn't make me feel great and then having to inject myself for the weight loss hasn't been great either <3:31:43 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: mm-hmm <3:31:49 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: okay <3:31:51 PM> Paul Hershberger: I'll stop you here <3:31:55 PM> Tate Barney - Patient: sorry that one was harder <3:31:57 PM> Rahul Manne - Doctor: that's all good yeah I was I was like okay time to brain power work <3:32:03 PM> Tate Barney - Patient: I know ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at May 1, 2025, 3:32:10 PM
