Doctor: okay tell me more about that <1:09:13 PM> Eni - Patient: well like they tried to make a change of like to how much or like how <1:09:14 PM> Nick - Doctor: okay <1:09:20 PM> Eni - Patient: strong it was probably about three months ago and I just don't see the difference I don't see it helping <1:09:28 PM> Nick - Doctor: have you been noticing any like side effects from the medication or <1:09:33 PM> Eni - Patient: like I just feel like I'm still like it's not treating me not so much like I'm sick but it's just like I guess I thought I was gonna make me feel better <1:09:33 PM> Nick - Doctor: going down <1:09:42 PM> Nick - Doctor: okay <1:09:47 PM> Nick - Doctor: so if I'm hearing you right it sounds like you're still kind of feeling those depressive symptoms <1:09:48 PM> Eni - Patient: cool um like well I <1:09:54 PM> Nick - Doctor: okay <1:09:58 PM> Eni - Patient: not so sure if it's like depression I just like feel nervous about things <1:10:05 PM> Eni - Patient: I feel <1:10:06 PM> Nick - Doctor: okay sorry to hear you're going through this I'm I know like sometimes with dealing with mental health it can take a couple of tries to figure something out so hopefully we can get something figured out <1:10:07 PM> Eni - Patient: I felt like I would be less nervous or like sad about things <1:10:14 PM> Eni - Patient: to make <1:10:24 PM> Nick - Doctor: um <1:10:26 PM> Nick - Doctor: I I can't remember in the past have <1:10:29 PM> Nick - Doctor: have we ever offered the idea of going to some sort of therapy or anything like that before <1:10:36 PM> Eni - Patient: oh yeah I think they gave me some sort of like like referral like moisturized I do authorization like to go see someone <1:10:41 PM> Nick - Doctor: mm-hmm <1:10:47 PM> Nick - Doctor: and was that something that you were able to do or that you were even interested in doing in the first place <1:10:51 PM> Eni - Patient: know I just honestly like I just was so busy like I'm getting ready for like this work email coming up so like I just and plus like I isn't the medication supposed to be helping me <1:10:55 PM> Nick - Doctor: yeah I mean of course sometimes medication can be good but a lot of times kind of supplementing with some like a counseling or something like that can also be good but it depends on the patient always and different people have different preferences <1:11:24 PM> Eni - Patient: to <1:11:26 PM> Nick - Doctor: kind <1:11:26 PM> Nick - Doctor: it why don't you tell me a little bit more about <1:11:29 PM> Nick - Doctor: of so <1:11:30 PM> Eni - Patient: it yeah I'm like so busy like I have to get ready for this like work promotion or like evaluation and then just found out my like roommates moving away so it's like I have to think about rent and how that's going to change so <1:11:31 PM> Nick - Doctor: um you said you've been busy <1:11:34 PM> Nick - Doctor: mm-hmm <1:11:46 PM> Nick - Doctor: uh-huh <1:11:50 PM> Eni - Patient: I just I feel yeah <1:11:50 PM> Nick - Doctor: a lot of different things on your plate <1:11:53 PM> Nick - Doctor: yeah <1:11:56 PM> Nick - Doctor: um <1:11:58 PM> Nick - Doctor: do you how do you feel about the idea I know one medications right now how does the idea of the therapy sound to you is that something that you know is it more that you are <1:12:13 PM> Nick - Doctor: really busy and it's hard to even imagine spending time to do that or is that something that you're not really even open to in the first place <1:12:15 PM> Eni - Patient: but like like would it be during work hours because I think it would be very difficult for me to take time off work <1:12:22 PM> Nick - Doctor: oh yeah <1:12:31 PM> Nick - Doctor: how tell me about your work hours <1:12:33 PM> Eni - Patient: yeah so it's like usually like business hours like eight to five and I just assumed <1:12:34 PM> Nick - Doctor: it's the value <1:12:40 PM> Eni - Patient: art clinics open up that same time so like I just can't take time off especially with this evaluation coming up and like my roommate moving out like I just <1:12:44 PM> Nick - Doctor: yeah <1:12:48 PM> Nick - Doctor: just a lot of stuff I can play it <1:12:50 PM> Eni - Patient: I don't know you know I just <1:12:53 PM> Nick - Doctor: mm-hmm <1:12:55 PM> Eni - Patient: feel like what if I can't get the promotion that I want and like I still have to worry about like where I'm living so <1:13:00 PM> Nick - Doctor: uh-huh <1:13:03 PM> Eni - Patient: I just feel so like worthless like not being able to like know my plan you know <1:13:09 PM> Nick - Doctor: yeah <1:13:12 PM> Eni - Patient: think I'm a little you know like frustrated that it's not helping so I don't know <1:13:13 PM> Nick - Doctor: yeah <1:13:19 PM> Nick - Doctor: again I'm so sorry <1:13:23 PM> Nick - Doctor: I know that the medication sometimes are <1:13:26 PM> Nick - Doctor: and <1:13:26 PM> Nick - Doctor: can be challenging to figure out <1:13:30 PM> Nick - Doctor: finding the time in clinic to to find with a busy work schedule I mean <1:13:33 PM> Eni - Patient: okay <1:13:37 PM> Nick - Doctor: I I can't even imagine especially on top of everything that you're dealing with <1:13:42 PM> Nick - Doctor: tell me about <1:13:47 PM> Nick - Doctor: any time <1:13:50 PM> Nick - Doctor: different <1:13:50 PM> Nick - Doctor: you know I know a lot of times with <1:13:53 PM> Nick - Doctor: clinics they sometimes have some off hours or maybe even a weekend time tell me what maybe your weekends look like for you <1:14:02 PM> Eni - Patient: so I don't work on the weekends so like if the weekends were be an option and maybe maybe that would work do you know if <1:14:02 PM> Nick - Doctor: business <1:14:02 PM> Nick - Doctor: um there I will have to check but there may be some appointments available or some a little past <1:14:11 PM> Eni - Patient: do you guys offer <1:14:13 PM> Eni - Patient: um appointments like on the weekend <1:14:18 PM> Eni - Patient: that's <1:14:25 PM> Nick - Doctor: hours is that something that you're <1:14:29 PM> Nick - Doctor: willing to look into <1:14:33 PM> Eni - Patient: yeah like if that's like if they have something after five yeah that would that would work <1:14:39 PM> Nick - Doctor: so if I'm hearing you right would you say that you know your biggest deterrence for you know looking into <1:14:41 PM> Eni - Patient: oh <1:14:47 PM> Eni - Patient: okay yeah and also if I have a medication like <1:14:48 PM> Nick - Doctor: mental health counseling is kind of like the timing of like when you work <1:14:54 PM> Nick - Doctor: right <1:14:54 PM> Nick - Doctor: yeah <1:14:59 PM> Eni - Patient: I feel like is there really a point to going to see someone right <1:15:06 PM> Nick - Doctor: um <1:15:08 PM> Nick - Doctor: of times we get that question a lot from patients and it is patient dependent and kind of navigating how you feel <1:15:13 PM> Eni - Patient: okay <1:15:16 PM> Nick - Doctor: have you ever tried kind of like a talk therapy before or no <1:15:19 PM> Eni - Patient: I haven't <1:15:22 PM> Nick - Doctor: you haven't what do you know about <1:15:26 PM> Eni - Patient: um <1:15:26 PM> Nick - Doctor: talk therapy and things like that <1:15:29 PM> Nick - Doctor: we're seeing a therapist <1:15:32 PM> Eni - Patient: I've just heard that some people just like talk <1:15:36 PM> Eni - Patient: some friends have told me to help them others are like it's a waste of time <1:15:37 PM> Nick - Doctor: mm-hmm <1:15:40 PM> Eni - Patient: and when I hear that that I'm like well I don't have the time so then I have the medication and I just don't want to be like really like less motivated and <1:15:42 PM> Nick - Doctor: yeah <1:15:52 PM> Eni - Patient: worthless so like yeah <1:15:57 PM> Nick - Doctor: I hear you <1:15:57 PM> Eni - Patient: here <1:15:59 PM> Nick - Doctor: the <1:15:59 PM> Nick - Doctor: um so a lot of times in the talk therapy <1:16:06 PM> Nick - Doctor: therapists are equipped with different tactics of you know figuring out how to help patients and <1:16:06 PM> Paul Hershberger: time <1:16:06 PM> Paul Hershberger: I'll <1:16:13 PM> Nick - Doctor: can suit their training to kind of figure out how best to talk to you in support of the medications <1:16:21 PM> Nick - Doctor: um it was okay I don't <1:16:21 PM> Eni - Patient: that makes sense I see <1:16:24 PM> Paul Hershberger: and stop you here Nick <1:16:26 PM> Paul Hershberger: let's hear your thoughts about how that went ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at Jun 3, 2025, 1:16:34 PM
