patient joined the conference <5:13:23 PM> Angie Castle joined the conference <5:13:23 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor joined the conference <5:13:27 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: all right <5:13:33 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: take us <5:13:34 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: so before we get started I just kind of want to ask like how are you doing overall <5:13:38 PM> Gus Miller - patient: I think I'm doing pretty well the families doing good so <5:13:44 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: awesome that's really great to hear that the family's doing well <5:13:44 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: so <5:13:49 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: you know as you know as part of our routine you know there's a couple of screening forms that we have to you know we want patients to fill out these include things about your stress level your sleep and any other substance use are you comfortable is this okay time for us to discuss some of the things that you filled out <5:13:58 PM> Gus Miller - patient: oh yeah we can do that <5:14:09 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: okay awesome there's one thing that I wanted to talk to you about so I noticed in the screening form that you had listed that you drank about five to six times a day for about like three like three times a week but it's predominantly on the weekends you know that kind of stood out to me I was wondering um you know I wanted to understand more about it kind of could you kind of elaborate more on that <5:14:34 PM> Gus Miller - patient: yeah I'd say I don't really drink on the weekdays it's mostly just the weekends you know I'm just enjoy myself you know <5:14:49 PM> Gus Miller - patient: need something after a long long week at work to just kind of relax at home you know <5:14:51 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: it's not <5:14:56 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: it right and what do you do during the week what is kind of like your trade <5:15:00 PM> Gus Miller - patient: I work at a bank <5:15:04 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: at least work on a bank okay that's awesome and how would you say that's going <5:15:12 PM> Gus Miller - patient: let's go and well um you know I just got a recent promotion a couple months ago so I think they like me there so <5:15:20 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: okay awesome that's great to hear that you've gone a promotion that's really awesome <5:15:26 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: so one of the questions that I had was just kind of like you know what type of things or what do you like about drinking during the weekends <5:15:28 PM> Gus Miller - patient: also it just relaxes me I would say that the biggest thing and I just I don't know I've been doing it for quite a few years at this point I've also kind of just got into a habit but yeah mostly just relaxes me helps me get a good night's sleep and stuff <5:15:50 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: okay <5:15:57 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: so what I'm hearing is that you know you recently got a promotion at the bank things are going very well but it also is very stressful during the week and so part of how to you know decompress or how to stress relief is to kind of drink during the weekend does that sound about right <5:16:13 PM> Gus Miller - patient: yeah that sounds about right <5:16:17 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: okay but I also do want to ask kind of like during this you know when you do these things kind of how does it reflect with your overall goals you know in terms of your health during the week what are your thoughts on that <5:16:23 PM> Gus Miller - patient: um I mean I know people say that drinking bad for you obviously I've heard that tons of times but I mean it's not as bad as things like smoking and <5:16:23 PM> Gus Miller - patient: other <5:16:50 PM> Gus Miller - patient: things like that and I only do it on the weekends and <5:16:56 PM> Gus Miller - patient: I mean I'm sure I could be healthier if if I didn't drink but <5:17:03 PM> Gus Miller - patient: I mean I <5:17:05 PM> Gus Miller - patient: I'll <5:17:05 PM> Gus Miller - patient: I I wouldn't I wouldn't say I'm like I mean I do a lot of things for my health like oh <5:17:15 PM> Gus Miller - patient: for walks in the morning and things like that so I think it's okay to have have some things every once in a while that you know we all have to enjoy life <5:17:22 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: right and on a scale of one to ten one being where <5:17:26 PM> Gus Miller - patient: here <5:17:34 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: there's no concern whatsoever and being like you're super super concerned it's the most top concern that you have How concerned would you feel like you are of your drinking <5:17:49 PM> Gus Miller - patient: I'd say maybe in the middle about a five I wouldn't say I have a major concern but you know every once in a while when I'm driving back from the bar like all <5:18:04 PM> Gus Miller - patient: actually skip a stop sign or something when I when I don't mean to so <5:18:10 PM> Gus Miller - patient: um maybe in that respect it'd be better if I don't have as much but I wouldn't say it's a major concern <5:18:16 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: okay so what it sounds like is that you know you're kind of out of five out of 10 where the five is more you don't feel like it's the most important concern but you know there are things in your life that alcohol is you know affecting you kind of like when you drive and these other things <5:18:30 PM> Gus Miller - patient: yeah <5:18:37 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: okay and so <5:18:42 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: it be okay for us to kind of discuss what it might look like to kind of take the next step forward kind of you know how can we get this 5 out of 10 to 4 out of 10 <5:18:55 PM> Gus Miller - patient: okay yeah we can we can discuss <5:18:58 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: yeah so <5:19:00 PM> Gus Miller - patient: I think it at least from my wife thinks that the biggest concern is the driving I mean <5:19:01 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: I want to kind of bring the question back to you you know you said you're out of five and what ways in your life could you imagine you taking your concern for alcohol from a five to a four so not a major leap but just something that you can kind of tweak a little bit <5:19:30 PM> Gus Miller - patient: I don't feel like it's <5:19:33 PM> Gus Miller - patient: it's a I mean I've never again a DUI or anything like that <5:19:40 PM> Gus Miller - patient: I've never really been pulled over but you know sometimes like that drive home is a bit of a blur and <5:19:47 PM> Gus Miller - patient: why does a big concerned about that so I guess <5:19:50 PM> Gus Miller - patient: if I were to kind of appease her a little bit <5:19:55 PM> Gus Miller - patient: um that would also make me feel a little better <5:19:58 PM> Gus Miller - patient: so maybe trying not to <5:20:01 PM> Gus Miller - patient: at least drive as much after maybe I guess I could try to arrange rides or maybe go with some people have someone <5:20:01 PM> Gus Miller - patient: have <5:20:11 PM> Gus Miller - patient: of us now not drink at all so they can they can drive us home more safely <5:20:17 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: okay yeah that sounds like a great initial first step and it kind of sounds like it's addressing the concerns that you had as well as your family members especially your wife as well so I think that's you know a great initial step on moving forward so I just want to sum everything up on that we discussed so we kind of talked about kind of your drinking habits about how you know you drink mostly on the weekends to kind of de-stress from the stressful week that you have as being a banker you feel like it's a five out of 10 you know it's not a top major concern but as well as there are things you know that it's impairing and affecting your life and so kind of moving forward things that we can do to kind of bring that five out of 10 to a four out of 10 is to maybe call like a ride you know have someone you know who's not drinking be able to drive or provide these kind of you know ride share services for you <5:20:17 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: when you <5:21:17 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: you <5:21:18 PM> Young Jun Park - doctor: um and so I think that's a great initial plan and at any point if there's anything that you say hey this isn't working or things like hey like I feel like I can do this you know we definitely want to check back in with you and kind of move from there about next up and plants that's okay with you ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at Jun 9, 2025, 5:21:37 PM
