doctor joined the conference <3:04:08 PM> Jake Weaver - patient joined the conference <3:04:09 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: okay so hello Jake and here you're here for your medication refill <3:04:15 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: yeah <3:04:21 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: yes so can you tell me like how life has been since the last time I saw you <3:04:30 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: rough my roommate moved out since we last talked and I got a job performance eval coming up and I'm not excited about <3:04:31 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: mmm <3:04:39 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: and one day at a time <3:04:40 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: to how you kind of dealing with the stress <3:04:46 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: going you know nothing you really can't do about it right <3:04:47 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: I mean yes nice names that <3:04:50 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: he <3:04:55 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: coping mechanisms you know have you noticed yourself using any like <3:05:02 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: Jose positive coping mechanisms to get through stressful times anything that you turn to to try to <3:05:08 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: that feeling <3:05:09 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: um <3:05:12 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: I mean not really I mean with my roommate moving out just me and the apartment but you know sometimes I try and call family and talk to them I've been doing that a little bit more recently <3:05:20 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: okay well that's always helpful to have somebody to talk to kind of event to um speaking of I had put in a referral for you to go to counseling where your thoughts on that <3:05:35 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: yeah I don't know about that I'm not I'm not too excited about going there <3:05:44 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: um why is that <3:05:46 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: well I mean <3:05:46 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: I don't <3:05:51 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: they want to talk to someone about everything you know I don't want to talk about my feelings like that and also like I just don't have a lot of time you know I mean with the performance eval and you know I just been I've been real tired when I get home I gotta you know prepare for my work email and I'm working all the time and then I'm just tired and I want to go to bed when I get home <3:06:03 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: mm-hmm <3:06:16 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: so can you tell me it's kind of a quick aside what what do you know <3:06:22 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: our symptoms like what's the news do you know are related to your depression specifically <3:06:27 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: I'm feeling sad for one <3:06:28 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: position <3:06:32 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: be some fatigue and just kind of not feeling myself <3:06:37 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: things <3:06:37 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: I mean yeah and they're not it hasn't been like you know I'm not happy I'm not running around over Joy but seems like they're kind of taking the edge off but with like the roommate moving out in the job performance coming up it's kind of hard to tell because <3:06:38 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: I <3:06:38 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: right so fatigue is one that I kind of want to highlight this definitely a symptom of being depressed like low energy not really having the motivation to like do things so that could be part of why you feel so tired when you get home and <3:06:57 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: thank you said the drugs are helping is that correct <3:07:01 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: okay yeah so medication is is one thing that we can do in the other another another Avenue of kind of helping combat the depression especially during times of high stress would be therapy officially and so you said your resistance to that because you don't want to thanks talk about your feelings for wine and in time is the other issue <3:07:19 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: getting worse and things are getting better and so I don't know I guess I'm over all the same and I would imagine that they're kind of helping <3:07:25 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: yeah <3:07:49 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: any other I guess obstacles you can think of the kind of keeping you <3:07:50 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: no not really I just it's just hard for me to see how you know <3:07:55 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: fine <3:07:58 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: okay <3:08:01 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: res summarizing my week for someone is going to help me to feel better you know it's just kind of <3:08:09 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: here <3:08:09 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: doesn't seem really tangible and and so it and that makes it kind of not worth the time but no there's no other reason <3:08:15 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: okay yes um <3:08:22 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: he told me that you're you're coping mechanism is to talk to you like that's been helpful <3:08:30 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: yeah I like to call in keep up with my mom and learn about how my dogs <3:08:31 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: have <3:08:31 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: okay so I guess checking in on your family and seeing what's going on with them has been helpful to you <3:08:43 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: tried venting to them and telling them like what's going on with you is that been helpful at all <3:08:48 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: on my mom knows that I started a new medication and you know <3:08:50 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: okay <3:08:56 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: really talked much else about that I mean we talk about the job and everything but not necessarily from the lens of depression and I don't really talk to my dad about that that's not that's not something that you that I talked to my dad about <3:09:13 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: so do you have anyone currently that you speak to about kind of the stressors in your life and what's going on <3:09:21 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: I mean I talked to my mom you know about the stressors but not necessarily about the stress that I'm feeling <3:09:28 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: okay so about like what's happening in your life but not about the actual emotions that <3:09:30 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: if that makes sense <3:09:32 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: okay <3:09:38 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: go along with that <3:09:38 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: right <3:09:40 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: yeah and <3:09:40 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: little one <3:09:45 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: yeah so that is that is essentially what counseling is so I could see how if you've never really talked about your feelings much it would seem really odd <3:09:53 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: yeah yeah it just feels I know I should but it just <3:10:06 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: it's a new the time it just it's hard to get the motivation to go <3:10:06 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: mmm okay um <3:10:15 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: so even if you were not to <3:10:19 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: commit to counseling as a thing that you do on a regular basis would you be interested in trying it just say once <3:10:30 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: Okay so <3:10:30 PM> Jake Weaver - patient: yeah I mean I could go I could probably go once yeah <3:10:40 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: maybe that's that's the way we can kind of start and you can you know try it out see how it feels <3:10:47 PM> Elizabeth - doctor: and and then there's no there's no huge time commitment for you to like proceed you're not locked in or anything of that nature ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at Jul 14, 2025, 3:11:00 PM
