patient joined the conference <3:22:52 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor joined the conference <3:22:53 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: do you <3:22:53 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: all right Elizabeth so Cadence overall physical exams and everything looks good today <3:22:53 PM> Elizabeth - patient: and I mean he's been putting on weight <3:23:07 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: have any concerns about his health <3:23:16 PM> Elizabeth - patient: age I think we've talked about it at his past like doctors visits and the diet I like tried to push you know healthy eating and trying to get them outside but <3:23:32 PM> Elizabeth - patient: not that much has changed <3:23:35 PM> Elizabeth - patient: he says it's very picky like he likes <3:23:36 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: tell me more about that <3:23:44 PM> Elizabeth - patient: snack foods and you know and chips and fruit snacks and now sodas into the chat and <3:23:56 PM> Elizabeth - patient: and the healthier things <3:23:59 PM> Elizabeth - patient: got a fruit it's just not interested in I <3:24:06 PM> Elizabeth - patient: I don't know if you have kids attention are <3:24:09 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: so you're saying that his stubbornness to eat healthy foods leads to tantrums and that leads to more exhaustion for you <3:24:10 PM> Elizabeth - patient: for good to manage <3:24:12 PM> Elizabeth - patient: and I just don't I don't have the energy <3:24:16 PM> Elizabeth - patient: you know to do that every day and every meal I don't <3:24:16 PM> Elizabeth - patient: I <3:24:22 PM> Elizabeth - patient: not have it in me <3:24:24 PM> Elizabeth - patient: mmm yes <3:24:36 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: I can understand how that would be <3:24:40 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: would be difficult it's tough what are your thoughts on <3:24:46 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: why he prefers the snacks versus the healthy options <3:24:48 PM> Elizabeth - patient: and they just taste better <3:24:54 PM> Elizabeth - patient: you know and you can pack a lot of flavor and like a Dorito versus <3:25:00 PM> Elizabeth - patient: a strawberry I think <3:25:04 PM> Elizabeth - patient: and this is a hard hard thing to argue <3:25:09 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: yeah I agree I mean I think they taste better too you know and as a as a child it's hard to <3:25:16 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: kind of differentiate between taste good and healthy and make that just decision what do you think <3:25:24 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: would help him <3:25:26 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: to start stepping towards the right direction <3:25:27 PM> Elizabeth - patient: I don't know that I'm kind of stuck <3:25:36 PM> Elizabeth - patient: honestly <3:25:38 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: what is stopping you I know this is radical but what is stopping you from just not offering any snacks at all just doing healthy <3:25:43 PM> Elizabeth - patient: um like if I just stand by them didn't have them in the house <3:25:50 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: yeah <3:25:54 PM> Elizabeth - patient: yeah I guess I worry about <3:25:58 PM> Elizabeth - patient: a meltdown <3:26:00 PM> Elizabeth - patient: you know like if it's if it's <3:26:03 PM> Elizabeth - patient: many tensions anytime that I say no to snacks <3:26:08 PM> Elizabeth - patient: in the <3:26:09 PM> Elizabeth - patient: I'm concerned if I completely remove them <3:26:14 PM> Elizabeth - patient: and that is just kind of kind of lose it and <3:26:20 PM> Elizabeth - patient: food is has become comforting you know since he's gotten bigger and <3:26:26 PM> Elizabeth - patient: his school experience is integrated and kids I want to play with them as much and they kind of teach them and that kind of thing so food is enjoyable for him and I like <3:26:27 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: sure what is it look like to you if <3:26:39 PM> Elizabeth - patient: kind of hate to take that away also <3:26:47 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: if he starts eating healthy options <3:26:48 PM> Elizabeth - patient: I mean hopefully it was <3:26:51 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: he said over the hump <3:26:56 PM> Elizabeth - patient: slim down a bit be more interested in socializing <3:27:02 PM> Elizabeth - patient: be able to make some friends <3:27:05 PM> Elizabeth - patient: yeah mostly mostly good things once we're over the hump though once we're able to kind of get the behavior under control and get past whatever Tantrums are short and to <3:27:23 PM> Elizabeth - patient: and I don't know how long that would take <3:27:27 PM> Elizabeth - patient: mm-hmm <3:27:30 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: what does that mean to you <3:27:32 PM> Elizabeth - patient: that I don't think he's initially going to react well I think you know at the onset it's gonna be <3:27:32 PM> Elizabeth - patient: a lot <3:27:39 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: but a hump implies <3:27:39 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: that <3:27:41 PM> Elizabeth - patient: tears a lot of yelling that <3:27:41 PM> Elizabeth - patient: you know <3:27:44 PM> Elizabeth - patient: I don't know maybe flailing around and I really sure <3:27:48 PM> Elizabeth - patient: yeah some hope and that if we were able to get past that initial <3:27:50 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: is not it'll get better it'll go back to normal <3:27:55 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: how bad realistically would his tantrum be on a scale of 1 to 10 10 being you know can't take it anymore tantrum to one being yeah he'll throw a little fit but that's it <3:28:01 PM> Elizabeth - patient: Chuck it would go back to to some normalcy that you <3:28:06 PM> Elizabeth - patient: you know start to <3:28:09 PM> Elizabeth - patient: pick up healthier options more so than sex <3:28:14 PM> Elizabeth - patient: um I mean <3:28:34 PM> Elizabeth - patient: it just this morning when I tried to have you know eggs incentive French toast it was a <3:28:42 PM> Elizabeth - patient: it's a good level seven <3:28:46 PM> Elizabeth - patient: so if there were no unhealthy options how put it at like a nine at least <3:28:57 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: and what would on a scale of 1 to 10 what would it look like <3:29:05 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: if he was eating healthy options ten being that you know he's gonna be happier he's gonna be the most happy he's ever been and one being you're not going to notice any difference <3:29:17 PM> Elizabeth - patient: so 10 is he's happy on healthy foods in one is everything's the same <3:29:32 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: yeah I'm sorry I'm asking how how much better will his life be and what would be the change in his life <3:29:34 PM> Elizabeth - patient: here bank right now as an 8 year old <3:29:39 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: yeah and if your first future health <3:29:47 PM> Elizabeth - patient: um <3:29:49 PM> Elizabeth - patient: I mean I know that eating habits <3:29:53 PM> Elizabeth - patient: that is learning now <3:29:57 PM> Elizabeth - patient: to be lifelong so future health wise I think it would be pretty pretty big on <3:29:59 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: sure <3:30:05 PM> Elizabeth - patient: so somewhere in the <3:30:09 PM> Elizabeth - patient: range right <3:30:11 PM> Elizabeth - patient: out as an 80 year old I don't know how much of a difference like <3:30:15 PM> Elizabeth - patient: he's going to notice <3:30:18 PM> Elizabeth - patient: or that I'm gonna notice I'm not 100% sure <3:30:25 PM> Elizabeth - patient: maybe I go for <3:30:27 PM> Elizabeth - patient: because <3:30:29 PM> Elizabeth - patient: if he does this way like kids are still kind of mean and we'll find something to teach you for but I think you would <3:30:37 PM> Elizabeth - patient: a bit more social <3:30:40 PM> Elizabeth - patient: and he's not he's not unhappy he's fine <3:30:44 PM> Elizabeth - patient: um for the most part <3:30:47 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: for right now <3:30:47 PM> Elizabeth - patient: so I would put it maybe a four maybe five <3:30:53 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: it so <3:30:53 PM> Elizabeth - patient: mmm <3:30:55 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: what you're telling me is that the benefit of going to a healthy diet for him is a nine or a 10 long-term <3:31:04 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: of the consequence is a nine Out Tantrum that will eventually <3:31:08 PM> Elizabeth - patient: mm-hmm <3:31:12 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: what you said and how effective has been the supplementing a little bit and then <3:31:23 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: going back to unhealthy foods and then going to helpy foods and going back to unhealthy Foods how effective is that been for you <3:31:28 PM> Elizabeth - patient: it hasn't been effective at all <3:31:30 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: yeah and why do you think that is <3:31:32 PM> Elizabeth - patient: um The Habit wasn't sustained so it is no way to make it affected <3:31:34 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: so what would make that more effective <3:31:42 PM> Elizabeth - patient: stay <3:31:42 PM> Elizabeth - patient: and if we could <3:31:46 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: what would that look like to you <3:31:48 PM> Elizabeth - patient: of course you know and keep them on healthy foods <3:31:53 PM> Elizabeth - patient: hi this eliminating the unhealthy options <3:31:55 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: over the next month though what would that look like in terms of your stress levels and <3:32:02 PM> Elizabeth - patient: hi I imagine my stress levels would be high and <3:32:09 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: and <3:32:11 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: resistance <3:32:19 PM> Elizabeth - patient: his resistance would also be high <3:32:22 PM> Jake Weaver - doctor: for how long ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at Jul 14, 2025, 3:32:32 PM
