Doctor joined the conference <2:59:58 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient joined the conference <2:59:59 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: I could be doing better <2:59:59 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: but <2:59:59 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: thanks for coming in today Jacob how have you been <3:00:14 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: why do you say that <3:00:19 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: I don't know these meds they're <3:00:20 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: completely understandable I know you're on a lot of medications how is your health been <3:00:23 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: really killing me I I know I like their why they're all being prescribed but I think there are too many and <3:00:30 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: get times I just don't even want to take some of them <3:00:33 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: I'm in my sugars have been better they're still a little higher but and when I check my blood pressure is doing okay like I haven't noticed any too highs when I've taken at home but <3:00:41 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: I'm glad your blood pressure and your sugars have been doing good that's we're happy to hear that we're always happy to hear about good numbers what do you think is the hardest part about managing your health <3:00:55 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: like with that like do I need to be on all these meds for blood pressure If I'm doing okay what already <3:01:02 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: I mean just there are so many pills this kicks confusing and <3:01:14 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: do you always take your medications <3:01:20 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: if I'm if I seem to be doing fine like do I like I'm just wondering if I need to be on so many because they could be like interacting with each other and who knows what else is going on with that <3:01:31 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: not always like if I don't want to take five pills in the morning I'll not take some of them <3:01:34 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: what do you feel is the biggest reason behind not taking all of your medications as prescribed <3:01:41 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: I mean just constantly throughout the day I feel like that's all I'm kind of keeping track of is just keeping track of pills and what time to take them and have to take certain ones with food and do all this and it gets confusing and roll over and I don't want to have to be doing this forever <3:01:47 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: what other barriers have you found that keep you from taking your medications as prescribed <3:02:04 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: I don't have <3:02:04 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: I mean nothing really like I'm able to take all my meds but just sometimes I don't <3:02:10 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: here so it sounds like the biggest problem is just there's too many pills <3:02:16 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: energy I don't feel like taking them <3:02:18 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: mm-hmm <3:02:22 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: I have to take <3:02:23 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: certain way and at a certain time which can be very frustrated and I'm glad that your numbers with your high blood pressure and your diabetes have been doing well <3:02:27 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: not much I'm still pretty <3:02:32 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: what have you been doing in terms of managing your health in non-pharmaceutical ways <3:02:38 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: what do you understand about your health when it comes to managing your problems in ways that don't involve medicine <3:02:42 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: what I'm kind of want to eat and my dad hasn't changed too much <3:02:46 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: and <3:02:46 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: still getting all the stuff I used to enjoy back in the day <3:02:50 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: most of the time like I find I do I find it harder to kind of like get around and go do things so most of the time I'm just kind of just at home just kind of sitting there and not doing too much <3:03:04 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: I know there are ways and I know I know my diet and stuff could be better at certain times but <3:03:11 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: so and I know we've talked about this in the past a huge way that we can help our diabetes and help our high blood pressure and other disease processes that we have is to actually fix it with food and exercise and just living right <3:03:18 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: I just really want to I really want to be off of some of these meds without having to change too much <3:03:24 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: mm-hmm <3:03:39 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: do you mind walking me through just a typical day <3:03:40 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: well I use were when I get up so <3:03:43 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: life <3:03:44 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: okay yeah sausage gravy and biscuits sounds great I'm a huge I'm a big fan myself but it is <3:03:48 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: I have to take my pills and then <3:03:51 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: go down <3:03:54 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: nursing home make some breakfast usually like a sausage and biscuits and gravy and stuff like that and then we're just kind of watching TV for a little bit and then sometimes we'll go out or sometimes some people will come over but <3:04:11 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: not too often then just doing doing lunch and then maybe like a nap in the afternoon and then <3:04:18 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: our pills and all throughout the day <3:04:30 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: I'm not the best thing that we can eat for you know or high blood pressure and our diabetes in terms of diet and your lifestyle how <3:04:40 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: how ready are you to sort of shift <3:04:40 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: I mean I'm open to it as long as the changes in too severe and I can and it'll help get me off of some of these some of these meds that you got me on but <3:04:44 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: what you've been doing into something that's a little bit more beneficial for your diabetes and your high blood pressure <3:04:50 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: on a scale of 1 to 10 where would you place yourself at <3:04:59 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: I think <3:05:01 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: yeah I guess six or seven maybe <3:05:03 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: that's pretty good that's pretty good why not any higher <3:05:10 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: yeah <3:05:11 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: yeah and I think if we start improving some aspects of your diet and your lifestyle there's a good possibility that we could get off some of these medications how do you feel about that <3:05:12 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: mean I I don't really want to change too much like is the way I've been or the way I am now I've been like that for as long as I can remember I haven't had to make any other changes but <3:05:23 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: get into the meds I am more concerned about that at this point in time <3:05:29 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: that would be great <3:05:40 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: that's good I think that's where we can start and you know in terms of your diet <3:05:43 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: I mean if you're saying like it's only a couple like smaller things here and there for now that's fine with me as long as we're not drastically making any big changes <3:05:50 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: things here and there will really <3:05:50 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: make <3:05:55 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: your health how do you feel about changing your diet I know you mentioned that you've been kind of doing the same things for years now but <3:06:02 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: do you feel about changing some aspects of it <3:06:05 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: where would you want to start when it comes to making some changes <3:06:23 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: awesome and even just buying low sodium foods right at the stores if you like <3:06:26 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: maybe go on some more walks and stuff and if I have like the neighbors or anything they can they know they offer to go and walk sometimes so I might take them up on it every now and then and I couldn't I know you were talking about the biscuits and gravy and I know I could probably cut down on that a little bit maybe having that just a couple times a week rather than most days but <3:06:53 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: some <3:06:53 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: certain brand of chips or something if you get the low sodium they might taste a little bit different but that would be huge when it comes to your high blood pressure and I know you mentioned that you know it's a little bit painful sometimes to walk and do exercises how do you feel about <3:07:07 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: okay <3:07:11 PM> Matt Crudele - Doctor: you know physical therapy or aerobic or aquatic Physical Therapy that might be a little bit easier on the joints how would you feel about that <3:07:16 PM> Jacob Mardovin - Patient: let me find yeah like the I'll get too many pains but if I'm gonna be up and doing a bunch of stuff then I can imagine that I'll be getting worse and I don't want to be on a painter or anything like that but ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at Jul 18, 2025, 3:07:37 PM
