Doctor joined the conference <3:08:12 PM> Angie Castle - Patient joined the conference <3:08:13 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: so tell me about how you're feeling today <3:08:18 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: oh you know I'm doing all right I just really need to get some recalls on these medications <3:08:26 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: up well you've got me on I think it's called metformin um because for my blood sugar <3:08:27 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: okay tell me about <3:08:31 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: the medications you're taking <3:08:43 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: and some insulin I think but that meant Foreman it really upsets my stomach so I just don't take it all that often and <3:08:51 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: I take a pill for you know my high blood pressure but it makes me have to pee all night so I sometimes don't really like taking that one either <3:08:57 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: yeah <3:09:00 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: um <3:09:02 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: and then I think you've got me on something for <3:09:06 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: I don't I don't know I don't even know what they're all called some days <3:09:10 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: yeah I mean I put them in my pill box and my alarm goes off to take them every morning and sometimes I just <3:09:11 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: it sounds like you might be feeling overwhelmed by some of these medications <3:09:25 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: still be laying in bed and then I don't even go take them <3:09:26 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: yeah I mean when they make you feel crummy <3:09:34 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: I wouldn't want to take them either <3:09:37 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: yeah I feel like you know some of them make me feel worse than when I don't take them <3:09:38 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: boom if you had to say how <3:09:48 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: often you're taking them as prescribed or as the instructions say 10 being perfect you take it every single time zero being you've never taken a single pill where do you think you fall on that scale <3:09:50 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: I would say probably a five you know some days I take it some days I don't <3:10:02 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: yeah <3:10:08 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: you know I certainly don't want anything to happen to me but I certainly don't like how they make me feel either <3:10:15 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: what would make you <3:10:15 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: more <3:10:20 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: of a seven or eight there <3:10:21 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: I would say if maybe the medicines didn't make me feel so bad <3:10:35 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: you know that sounds like a great idea <3:10:35 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: so why not stop taking them all together <3:10:45 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: but I think that you know I don't want any of this stuff to get worse <3:10:52 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: worse in what way <3:10:57 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: you know like I don't want to have like a stroke or a heart attack you know I <3:11:07 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: I know the diabetes just keeps getting kind of worse even though I've you know tried making some changes to my diet but <3:11:08 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: yeah <3:11:15 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: I just got a sweet tooth in there just sometimes in the evenings I just can't pass up a good baked good <3:11:22 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: see you you care about your health and <3:11:27 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: you don't want those <3:11:28 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: I think <3:11:28 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: yeah I don't want to end up in the hospital that's going to be expensive and <3:11:29 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: negative things to happen <3:11:39 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: if I end up in the hospital they'll probably put me on more medicine that you know will make me feel even worse <3:11:40 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: here <3:11:54 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: so with where you are today <3:12:02 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: are you <3:12:06 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: open to taking your medications more <3:12:11 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: or <3:12:14 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: are you wanting to <3:12:18 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: up taking them all together <3:12:22 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: I mean <3:12:22 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: well I certainly don't want to stop taking them all together <3:12:26 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: like I said I don't want any of these bad things to happen <3:12:26 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: but <3:12:30 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: I I wish there was an easier way that I didn't have to feel so bad taking some of these or have to be up to pee all night or you know it's <3:12:42 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: you know I wish that I could eat a cookie every now and then and not feel so bad about doing it <3:12:49 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: how would you say the consequences compared between <3:12:56 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: those side effects of taking the medications and the potential consequences of not taking them at all <3:13:04 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: yeah obviously not taking them at all those consequences are greater than you know the inconvenience of me having to get up and go pee at night <3:13:19 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: yeah I mean those are definitely worse <3:13:30 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: if you could set a goal number for yourself as far as how <3:13:37 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: adherent you would be to taking your meds as instructed or as prescribed every day <3:13:46 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: what would a goal number for you be <3:13:49 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: from 0 to 10 <3:13:51 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: I mean obviously my goal would be 10 <3:13:56 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: but realistically if I could get to like eight or nine <3:14:01 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: feel like that might help or be a little better <3:14:06 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: what might be one step you could take <3:14:10 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: forget to even a six or seven <3:14:15 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: yeah I think I just have to remember that you know if I don't take these medications I might end up in the hospital and that's something I really don't want to do <3:14:27 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: you know I think it's um <3:14:30 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: maybe if I <3:14:33 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: you know it's been pretty nice lately maybe I need to get outside and do a little more walking and that might make my mood a little better which might make me want to take my medicine a little more maybe I want to be so grumpy <3:14:47 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: how realistic would it be for you to go for a walk after this let's say <3:14:57 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: yeah you know I've really been wanting to get outside more my my grandkids are playing soccer at the park a couple nights a week and I'd like to be able to get up there and watch them to play so <3:15:09 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: getting outside and going up there every evening might be might be good for me <3:15:19 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: yeah I think that could be good for you too <3:15:26 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: specially since we've talked about some diet and exercise change in the past <3:15:27 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: yeah you know you've told me to make some changes there but I've <3:15:37 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: I've not really made many changes it's so hard in the summer when it's so hot out you know when you get old you just can't handle the heat <3:15:47 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: but if it's keeping you inside <3:15:51 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: how do you think that impacts you <3:15:53 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: yeah I mean I'm just basically sitting in my chair watching the prices right all day <3:15:54 PM> Bailey Hangen - Doctor: hmm <3:16:01 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: okay we'll go ahead and stop there <3:16:05 PM> Angie Castle - Patient: okay ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at Aug 25, 2025, 3:16:08 PM
