Patient joined the conference <6:17:23 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor joined the conference <6:17:23 PM> Paul Hershberger joined the conference <6:17:23 PM> John Donnelly joined the conference <6:17:24 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: you <6:17:28 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: well do you see how long the list is I wake up every day and it's like I can't even eat breakfast because I've got so many pills to take I'm full before you buy the food <6:17:33 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: so called tell me about what angers you with these medications <6:17:41 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: okay you you seem frustrated by like the amount that you have <6:18:02 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: about how often you are or aren't taking these medications <6:18:06 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: and something that I do need before we keep going on this is a very common thing that people run into we <6:18:06 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: well I mean it's hard to say when you have as many meds as I do it's hard to you know keep track of which ones are running out and when I need to go get more and <6:18:15 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: maybe about two or three days a week I take them all but some days I wake up and I you know don't feel like taking 20 pills and some days I don't have the pills ready to take and <6:18:26 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: probably twice a week I'm taking them every all my pills <6:18:39 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: we are obviously have a lot of chronic conditions that we're treating with you and it it can be complicated and convoluted so what you're feeling is not an uncommon feeling is something that I need to voice to you <6:18:54 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: but I guess <6:18:56 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: so you're not taking the sum of the medications that sometimes <6:19:03 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: I guess <6:19:06 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: is the benefit you see of not taking these medications <6:19:11 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: okay <6:19:12 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: I mean I just don't have to worry about it all the time I don't have to wake up in the first part of my day being chasing all these pills making sure I'm taking everything on my checklist <6:19:22 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: I mean I think it's so I don't have a heart attack or something <6:19:23 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: and then tell me about like going to building off that tell me about what you know about what the medications are for <6:19:32 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: okay well there's there's some more but we can touch on this one <6:19:38 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: do they all work that way I'm not sure but that's what I think so I don't have a heart attack <6:19:44 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: oh <6:19:49 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: I mean I probably wouldn't be able to keep up with my yard the way that I do <6:19:49 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: what would your life do you think look like if you did have a heart attack <6:19:54 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: okay and what fears do you have <6:20:01 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: I don't know what would change as far as my abilities to you know <6:20:07 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: go out with my friends <6:20:07 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: play with <6:20:09 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: my grandkids those kind of things <6:20:16 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: when you say that <6:20:17 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: I guess my biggest fear would just be that Grandpa that has to sit in the recliner while his grandkids are over <6:20:18 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: okay <6:20:28 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: then I guess how many grandkids do you have <6:20:29 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: I've got two third one on the way <6:20:31 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: two third one on the way we'll congratulations <6:20:34 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: thank you <6:20:38 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: and how often do you get to see your grandkids <6:20:39 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: oh we watch them once a week and then sometimes I'll see him on an evening during the week <6:20:42 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: okay so it would I guess if you had like you already said it would affect you if you wouldn't be able to <6:20:52 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: definitely <6:20:56 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: um play with your grandkids <6:21:00 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: 10 it's my favorite thing to do <6:21:03 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: so I guess this might be a weird question to ask you on a scale of 1 to 10 how much do you enjoy like going and playing with your grandkids <6:21:13 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: that's good so <6:21:16 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: I don't even really want to think about it to be honest <6:21:18 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: what concerns would you have if you were able to like do that activity which is your favorite thing to do <6:21:27 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: okay <6:21:30 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: I guess thank you about it like that yeah it would it would be probably smart to make sure that I don't have a heart attack or something so I don't <6:21:33 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: would you say that it would be worth <6:21:38 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: just taking medications every day so that you could <6:21:42 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: spend time with your grandchildren <6:21:45 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: okay <6:21:56 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: get to not play with my grandkids when they come over <6:22:01 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: um <6:22:03 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: I guess <6:22:04 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: where does like <6:22:08 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: does this change any Outlook you have with taking the medications just after like the short conversation that we've had thus far <6:22:09 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: I guess I was thinking about it from a perspective of just how annoying it is to take them all but when I think about it in the grand scheme of my life <6:22:16 PM> Joel Spenny - Doctor: okay and then I guess <6:22:27 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: I feel like I am a little bit more likely to take them all now <6:22:32 PM> Cole Stevens - Patient: here muted <6:22:35 PM> Paul Hershberger: I'm going to stop you here I'm going to and I just want you to know that's five minutes <6:22:42 PM> Paul Hershberger: and why am I highlighting that ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at Aug 26, 2025, 6:22:46 PM
