Doctor joined the conference <1:31:54 PM> Dev Patel - Patient joined the conference <1:31:54 PM> Paul Hershberger joined the conference <1:32:07 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: all right Mr Dove so going through the first part of the visit I'm really glad to see that Harry seems to be doing seems to be doing well something that I was slightly concerned about just was Harry's weight and just kind of like BMI and also a little bit concerning to hear that maybe some of his friends at school had been picking on a little bit for his way can you just tell me a little bit more about what's going on <1:32:20 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: oh yeah I knew you would bring that up <1:32:40 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: so I I mean again with Harry it's <1:32:45 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: he's just a picky eater he doesn't want to eat anything that we eat every day it's just snacks <1:32:49 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: hi <1:32:53 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: I don't even know where he gets that from because none of nobody in my family is overweight has any weight problems and he doesn't listen to me or my wife and it's just frustrating and at the end of the day he'd much rather just go to sleep not eat the healthy stuff and so we just let him eat whatever there is to eat <1:32:53 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: you <1:32:53 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: everything <1:33:04 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: he how does this make you and your wife feel <1:33:16 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: a <1:33:19 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: here <1:33:20 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: created to be honest both of us work 95 and you come home and it's just <1:33:27 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: what do you do you just tired and he's not willing to listen to you he's just <1:33:28 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: here <1:33:34 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: here so <1:33:34 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: always throwing a tantrum <1:33:40 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: it sounds like I'm just from my perspective sounds like Harry's picky eater kind of doesn't eat like everything that you put in front of him but like only certain things and but also that you guys are you guys are also pretty busy as well and you can also see that you want Harry to eat while you want him to eat certain things that are healthy but it's just a little bit difficult <1:33:52 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: yeah <1:34:00 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: protected yeah I mean I've tried to ask him politely I've tried to even <1:34:09 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: use Authority and just tell him like Hey you need to eat your vegetables but nothing happens he will just <1:34:14 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: here how do you feel about his friends at school how they've been treating him <1:34:17 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: now listen and I I just don't know what to do at this point I'm at my wit's end <1:34:27 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: um I do feel bad about him about it I think that it <1:34:32 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: yeah <1:34:35 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: Dazz affect him but he doesn't really I mean he's eight and he doesn't really know how to feel about that yet but I feel like it will be <1:34:42 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: yeah <1:34:43 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: yeah <1:34:43 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: it yeah it would not be bad <1:34:47 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: I would definitely affect him going forward <1:34:50 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: just come home and like talk about his friends and how they all just call him with weird names with related to his weight and <1:34:59 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: I know he's definitely hearing that and thinking about it in his mind <1:35:00 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: here <1:35:03 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: yeah and again it is it's very clear from my perspective and you want the best for him and you and your wife have been doing everything you possibly can to do what's best for and and just want to really re-emphasize that so from your point of view if Harry were to continue these eating patterns that he's been exhibiting the past couple years a couple years down the line like what do you think would be the result of that <1:35:33 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: that's a I haven't have not thought about that <1:35:42 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: I'm a little scared to be honest to think about it <1:35:46 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: um at the rate that he's going he's his gaining like <1:35:50 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: 10 10 pounds every six or so months and it's it's scary I don't want him to <1:35:50 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: be <1:35:53 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: it just <1:35:58 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: severely overweight or have some kind of medical conditions you know but <1:35:58 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: my <1:36:03 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: wife and I both of us work and you know I work at the gas station she works at a motel we get Social Security money so it's not like I can try to have him eat the best meals all the time either it's <1:36:06 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: headphones here <1:36:19 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: whatever I can get um I do try to spend time with him and <1:36:24 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: I I try to have him talk I try to talk to him but it just he just wouldn't listen <1:36:28 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: here no <1:36:33 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: and it for my point of view kind of seems with Harry just having difficulties in this way <1:36:41 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: let me rephrase <1:36:44 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: in addition to the things that you've been doing now is there anything else that you think would be helpful just an encouraging Harry encouraging Harry and is eating habits <1:36:55 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: I did think about just <1:37:00 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: stopping snacks but like I said <1:37:04 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: he just wouldn't need anything else he would just <1:37:04 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: get <1:37:07 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: angry throw Tantrums not talk to any of us <1:37:13 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: keep himself in his room <1:37:16 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: eat anything and it's just it's not healthy either so I honestly do not know what I could do <1:37:19 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: mhm <1:37:23 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: change this <1:37:24 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: okay <1:37:25 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: I've thought of it my wife and I have thought of this over and over and there's just we don't know what to do <1:37:29 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: significant yeah in the past what has helped with these tantrums and just helping them calm down <1:37:31 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: just giving him the chips <1:37:37 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: okay <1:37:42 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: do you think in the future is there anything that you've thought of <1:37:47 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: like apart from giving him the chips that you think would be helpful <1:37:52 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: okay <1:37:52 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: you know <1:37:55 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: I thought of maybe starting you know incentive giving the whole bag of chips maybe half a bag and then telling him if he's <1:38:04 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: hearing World maybe he'll get the other half next day <1:38:04 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: but <1:38:07 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: okay okay <1:38:08 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: that just doesn't work <1:38:10 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: and then the whole thought of him being <1:38:23 PM> Dev Patel - Patient: potentially bullied at the school that makes me like that that really affects the two of us we don't know what to do <1:38:26 PM> Stephen Vinczi - Doctor: okay okay <1:38:27 PM> Paul Hershberger: I'm going to stop you here <1:38:35 PM> Paul Hershberger: um ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at Aug 28, 2025, 1:38:43 PM
