Doctor: okay <12:53:34 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: yeah <12:53:36 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: okay so now we've completed all the work related physical stuff I'd like to talk to a little bit more about some lifestyle changes and things like that is that okay with you <12:53:51 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: okay so one of the first things I want to talk about is alcohol use <12:53:52 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: I do <12:53:58 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: so do you use alcohol at all <12:54:04 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: okay tell me a little bit more about that <12:54:05 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: only on the weekends like I don't drink during the week <12:54:08 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: um <12:54:12 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: okay what do you like to drink on the weekends <12:54:13 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: on <12:54:15 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: Saturdays usually I'll have a couple drinks <12:54:20 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: but <12:54:22 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: I mean it depends I would say I like to drink wine usually and a lot of times like if it's been a long week then we just like to go out on a Saturday <12:54:27 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: yeah everyone needs to decompress from the weekend or from the week and the work week <12:54:40 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: some wine <12:54:50 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: so do you drink with anyone else <12:54:50 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: um yeah sometimes my husband will drink with me usually it's with my friends <12:54:54 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: okay when you're drinking with your friends or your husband where do you like to drink <12:55:02 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: yeah it's it's usually with my friends sometimes if it's been <12:55:07 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: like a really tough week I'll just be drinking at home <12:55:12 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: um we'll go out to a restaurant or a bar sometimes <12:55:19 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: okay <12:55:24 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: it just depends <12:55:26 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: usually we usually do <12:55:28 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: and do you always have a designated driver when you're drinking at the bars or a restaurant <12:55:36 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: okay tell me more about that when you say usually <12:55:39 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: well usually one of us is just <12:55:47 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: they're not drinking or will only have like a couple drinks and then be fine <12:55:47 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: but <12:55:49 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: Okay so <12:55:52 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: you know it's <12:55:52 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: I mean <12:55:55 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: and really like I feel like all of us are adults and so we know our own tolerance so we know if we've had a couple drinks like we know when we're good to drive when we're not good to drive I feel like so <12:56:09 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: yeah sometimes if I will have just a couple and I feel fine to drive then I'll drive us home but <12:56:16 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: yeah <12:56:20 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: so you have sometimes driven home after drinking a couple drinks correct <12:56:27 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: okay <12:56:29 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: I don't really know like <12:56:30 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: um how often would you say you're doing that <12:56:40 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: I mean it's every so often like <12:56:42 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: okay do you see that behavior is dangerous at all <12:56:45 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: hey I don't always remember like it's something that happens <12:56:50 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: probably once or twice a month maybe less than that actually <12:56:57 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: I mean I don't really think it's dangerous because I would never drive when I know I'm not good to drive <12:57:03 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: okay <12:57:10 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: like when I am driving I feel like I'm a bitch drive so <12:57:18 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: good that you think that it is dangerous sometimes to drink and drive and you do know your own limits <12:57:22 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: I mean <12:57:22 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: well <12:57:26 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: I mean any alcoholic drinks with driving can be dangerous to people what do you think are the benefits of drinking and driving you know <12:57:37 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: driving after you have a couple drinks even though you feel like it's safe <12:57:45 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: I guess the only benefit is like not paying for an Uber or something but <12:57:51 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: like and it's I guess yeah it's sometimes we don't want to Uber and it's just like <12:57:58 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: I guess there aren't that many benefits really to it <12:57:58 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: yeah I can understand not wanting to pay for an Uber and then have to worry about picking up your car the next day <12:58:03 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: well <12:58:13 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: um what do you think of the benefits of not drinking and driving <12:58:20 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: mean I definitely do not <12:58:20 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: ever <12:58:23 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: want like a DUI or anything like I know that could really <12:58:30 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: something that would be really bad and I also would never want anyone to get hurt like God forbid their be a car accident or something <12:58:37 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: so <12:58:39 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: yeah I I definitely <12:58:42 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: don't want to put anyone else in danger or <12:58:45 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: know kind of <12:58:47 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: in trouble <12:58:48 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: yeah I'm glad you realize some of those negative consequences of drinking and driving you know we all want the best and we all think that we are doing the best but sometimes like accidents can happen so it's good that you realize those consequences for the next time that you go out on the weekends is there anything that you think you can change to <12:58:52 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: it I guess definitely like <12:59:17 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: not have to drive when you after having a couple drinks <12:59:25 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: there's like Uber or <12:59:25 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: you know <12:59:28 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: I guess <12:59:30 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: I guess if I don't know for sure that someone is not drinking like on a certain night like I guess I could not drink that I can drive us <12:59:34 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: okay that sounds like a really good plan in a really good way to prevent drinking and driving <12:59:40 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: like I guess I could probably be better about <12:59:44 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: being sure that I know that someone is not going to drink or if I don't know that then I just won't drink myself <1:00:00 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: I'm glad that you are offering not to drink <1:00:04 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: has anyone ever been concerned about your drinking before <1:00:05 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: no one's ever told me that they're concerned I wouldn't say yeah no one said anything <1:00:11 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: okay I know before you said that your husband drinks with you a lot <1:00:18 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: um <1:00:22 PM> Paul Hershberger: all right we'll stop here <1:00:26 PM> Paige Wnek - Doctor: and what does your drinking look like compared to your husband's drinking <1:00:33 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: I mean I feel like we drink <1:00:36 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: similar amounts but I probably am a little bit <1:00:41 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: more affected by alcohol than he is I would say <1:00:47 PM> Risha Annamraju - Patient: just ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at Oct 13, 2025, 1:00:57 PM
