Patient joined the conference <1:45:17 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor joined the conference <1:45:17 PM> Angie joined the conference <1:45:17 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: little video you want me to start <1:45:21 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: yeah I mean I mainly just drink on the weekends like maybe a few drinks here and there kind of just like social drinking nothing <1:45:22 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: Perfect all right Emily so it's thank you for first of all sharing everything so far the physical looks great I was looking at your screening forms and it looks like there's some some things about drinking do you want to talk about that <1:45:38 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay <1:45:51 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: easy I think yeah and I like my partner and I drink a little bit and then I haven't seen like any problems <1:46:02 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: um like I don't feel like I like forgot anything <1:46:07 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: mean sometimes like the weekends just a blur but it's just like The Weeknd passing by fast I feel like maybe <1:46:08 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: absolutely and how what is a drink like to you <1:46:13 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: I'll have like I'll drink like some wine have like a shot of liquor my cocktails <1:46:25 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay <1:46:27 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: um yeah just like a variety <1:46:30 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: um I don't think it really impacts me it's <1:46:31 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: how do you feel like that impacts you currently <1:46:35 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay <1:46:39 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: it's like just a relaxed on wine on the weekends I guess sometimes The Weeknd feels like a blur <1:46:39 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: but <1:46:44 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay <1:46:48 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: other than that I don't I don't think it affects me that much <1:46:52 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: I'm glad to hear that there's there's something you found that the relaxes you but when you say the weekend's a blur like what what does that mean to <1:46:52 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: I guess when I wake up the next morning I'm just like oh don't really remember too much about what happened other than I was like drinking you know having a good time <1:47:01 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: perfect <1:47:09 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: yeah <1:47:11 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: um but yeah <1:47:12 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: is that something that is concerning to you your spouse <1:47:14 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: um I mean my spouse is like mentioned it a few times that you know he's like a little worried but I didn't think it was probably you have a few drinks like tomorrow you're kind of waking up feeling a little like little hangover I guess but I don't think that's anything with the ordinary <1:47:24 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: hmm <1:47:35 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay okay um is there is this something where you've you've reflected before and been like oh maybe maybe I should change or maybe friends family have mentioned anything <1:47:37 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: I guess other than my spouse mentioning something I haven't really thought about it too much <1:47:50 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay okay <1:47:54 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: but <1:47:56 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: you is why is that a problem <1:47:58 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: well I'm it's more like a relative thing is if this feels like a problem to you so the drinking itself <1:48:09 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: is is to what like past where we can consider like the standard drink requirement but I want to see how this impacts you do you feel like besides the relaxation there's anything else that happens <1:48:23 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay <1:48:24 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: I guess my mental Clarity after <1:48:29 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: isn't the best but on the weekdays I feel fine <1:48:33 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay <1:48:34 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: um <1:48:35 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: so it sounds like your functioning on the weekdays really well but then kind of that that blur on the weekends is there a reason why you drink as much as you do <1:48:48 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: I feel like I'm just <1:48:50 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: stressed on the weekdays and like the only chance I get to really like wind down relax is just on the weekends and so since I'm doing more like social things we're like friends me my spouse normally it's just you know having a couple of drinks here and there <1:48:57 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay <1:49:00 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: you know <1:49:06 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: yeah so it sounds like that that relaxation is really helping carry over the burden of what happens over the weekday how stressed are you like on a scale one to 10 how how much stress are you feeling during those weekdays <1:49:19 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: yeah so um during the weekdays I'm like a lawyer and so I have a lot of my clients cases that I have to follow up on like normally work to like late at night so I feel like I never have time to really like wind down and it's just like a lot of stress dealing with like lawsuits and stuff like that <1:49:24 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay <1:49:29 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay <1:49:45 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: um has there any there's there anything else that you've used to wind down besides the <1:49:45 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: um I'll try to do some like <1:49:50 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: drinking <1:49:56 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: yoga on the weekends <1:49:59 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: and like mostly like exercising some like art stuff here and there but I feel like I haven't really had time for that on the weekends either <1:50:05 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: absolutely <1:50:10 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: try to like see like friends and <1:50:13 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: stuff and hang out my spouse but usually that's just like you know we sit down and have few drinks <1:50:17 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: he tell me how it feels when you when you're with friends socializing how does that make you feel in terms of <1:50:20 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: just <1:50:20 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: I think it's good like we get to catch up from the week and you know we're having a lot of fun and then <1:50:27 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: station stress Etc <1:50:36 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay <1:50:38 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: and grabbing like a few drinks here and there from different places or like sometimes at home <1:50:44 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: um so I think it's pretty relaxing because I'm not really having to think about all the stress I have at work <1:50:49 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay how how dependent maybe that's the wrong word about how much do you feel like alcohol plays a part in that relaxation over say just being with friends or being with your spouse on the weekend <1:50:54 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: um I feel like it probably has a bigger role because from my understanding I think alcohol is like I'm not depressant maybe and that definitely helps me to like calm down from what's happened over the week one down <1:51:08 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay <1:51:25 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: and <1:51:25 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: yeah okay <1:51:25 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: um so probably a big part I want to say now that you bring that up <1:51:30 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: I guess now that you kind of brought it up <1:51:30 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: I guess <1:51:32 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: with it being a big part how if say someone such as your spouse or even myself like advised you to change and be like hey maybe cut back on the drinks first of all how how many drinks do you think would be sufficient enough to still feel that relaxation and still feel social and then kind of second <1:51:52 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: how on a scale from one to 10 how much would you be willing to change <1:52:01 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: five a day on the weekends my seem like a lot <1:52:07 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: I guess like maybe like one or two drinks in I'm already like <1:52:11 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: you know kind of relaxed but I guess the more I drink it makes me even more relaxed <1:52:11 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: mmm okay <1:52:19 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: it's like a scale the more you drink the more you feel that relaxation okay <1:52:24 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: is there a point <1:52:24 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: um I guess I don't really have that cap for myself <1:52:27 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: like a relaxation point where you're like I've hit this point I'm happy with my stress level <1:52:34 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay okay <1:52:38 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: um yeah <1:52:39 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay um I might ask there's two weird questions the first one is do you think about drinking outside of the weekends is there any thought process where you're like I want to <1:52:51 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: she <1:52:55 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: yes outside the weekends I don't really have the time to drink and then I'm like you know the next morning I wake up I have to see clients and I definitely don't want to feel the way I do on the weekends if I were to drink on the weekdays and now probably affect my job performance which caused me more stress I want to say if that happened because I need to be on my A-game all the time when I'm not my job <1:52:56 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay <1:53:17 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: yeah <1:53:19 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: has it ever affected your job performance when you're on Saturday maybe a scale of one to ten on Saturday you know Sunday you drinking both days and then all the sudden it comes to Monday have you noticed that of affected your job performance <1:53:20 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: teacher <1:53:28 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: yeah I guess I guess it's like on Sunday nights I'll have like a few drinks as well and then Monday I'll kind of wake up like feeling a little bit more foggy and look more slow mentally cognitively <1:53:36 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: for us <1:53:42 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: well <1:53:44 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay <1:53:49 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay <1:53:53 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: um so that's why I kind of just avoided on the weekdays <1:53:59 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: I guess on Sunday I guess I still want to lie down a little bit <1:54:00 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay okay so you're still you feel like drinking on Sunday still helps you with the stress okay how much would you say in packs that Monday <1:54:12 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: here oh if I drink probably like <1:54:14 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: and <1:54:14 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay okay <1:54:18 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: in eight <1:54:21 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: teach <1:54:22 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: is there <1:54:24 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: you <1:54:24 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: is there a reason why <1:54:27 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: it's not more it's not like a 10 out of 10 impaction <1:54:28 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: I feel like because I can still function <1:54:30 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay good <1:54:34 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: going to attend but I guess at the same time it's not like the best that I am like say on Tuesday Wednesday Thursday like I want to say those are one on my performing my best <1:54:41 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay and what do you think it would take at least something you're willing to do to to bring that number down from an eight to maybe maybe a five <1:54:46 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: um <1:54:56 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: I guess I just stopped like it's just such a habit now I don't really know like what else to do <1:54:59 PM> Brad LeHoty - Doctor: okay <1:55:04 PM> Angie: some of the <1:55:04 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: relax <1:55:06 PM> Emily Chen - Patient: so I guess I have a really thought about you know how that affects my day-to-day ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at Oct 23, 2025, 1:55:13 PM
