Patient: he <2:48:06 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: it's kind of hard to say when it's your kid and everything but looking at a lot of his classmates and everything he does seem to be a little bit <2:48:14 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: it's bigger um <2:48:16 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: sure yeah I'm glad you bring that up because that's also something that I want to discuss with you more he is in the 90th percentile for his weight and 50th percentile for his height <2:48:16 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: Leominster <2:48:30 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: what that means is you know he's a little bit on the heavier side a little bit more obese so you know how do you feel about that <2:48:43 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: don't <2:48:43 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: I mean obviously I <2:48:46 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: on my kit to be <2:48:49 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: you know heavy or bigger or anything like that you know I just I want to be healthy you know he's my kid I want to be as healthy as you can be so um I want to do whatever I can to you know get them there <2:49:00 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: sure yeah and I agree I mean this is a physician we also want to get them there and I'm glad that you feel the same way as I do because you're right I mean being a little bit heavier does come with a lot of health problems and we want to definitely want to avoid those for a little Manish so in terms of just diet at home could you tell me more about what he eats <2:49:11 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: it <2:49:24 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: future <2:49:25 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: he doesn't need the best he just started drinking soda recently and he snacks on a lot of food and honestly he's just a really picky eater it <2:49:28 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: here <2:49:36 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: and <2:49:36 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: it's frustrating because I try and make them good stuff I try and make them the typical meet greens rice potato all that stuff <2:49:44 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: is needed he just refuses to eat it and all it was it wants to have soda and sweets and candy and you know mac and cheese and all that stuff and I it's just and I'm busy I don't have time to constantly make side dishes for him and everything you know <2:49:59 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: oh yeah absolutely and you know he doesn't like some things you mentioned being as picky but what things does he like <2:50:04 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: I <2:50:11 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: he the only <2:50:15 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: he likes you know McDonald's you know he likes fast food a lot like fried food he likes candy <2:50:17 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: he asked her things okay <2:50:23 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: here like <2:50:25 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: he does <2:50:26 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: sorry go ahead <2:50:26 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: sorry go ahead no sorry <2:50:28 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: he does like <2:50:32 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: comfort <2:50:33 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: mm-hmm <2:50:34 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: we actually will eat some fruit so I am <2:50:37 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: here <2:50:39 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: and to build off that <2:50:41 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: of his green he doesn't touch me basically but he does like you know bananas apples oranges he looks little fruit packs and everything so I at least try and get them at least make a meter free packed during lunch or dinner I was trying to throw it in his meals and every in his lunch pack and all that but at home he just don't make I spent a good time trying to cook a healthy good delicious you know pop roast or something and he or like some chicken dish and he just wanted it he just yeah he doesn't he doesn't he won't eat it so it's just frustrating because I you know I I think <2:50:41 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: sure yeah <2:50:43 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: and you mentioned the fruit what fruits does he like and what vegetables does he like does he <2:51:02 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: hmm <2:51:03 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: fun <2:51:22 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: it sounds delicious <2:51:27 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: yeah <2:51:34 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: mm-hmm <2:51:35 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: he gets <2:51:37 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: picked on a little bit because it was weight because he comes back you know so he's kind of mentioned some stuff about that which is concerning <2:51:41 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: yeah <2:51:42 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: yeah and I'm sorry to hear that and you know obviously this discussion hopefully will lead to better results so that with that doesn't happen in the future again so that we can get his weight under control you know but what I'm hearing with you know a little manish's that he likes some fruits like bananas you mentioned but he primarily eats junk food and like sodas recently his thing um so what we could do is mix those right you know he might get a little bit of like you know fast food like McDonald's but then with that comes like vegetables and bananas things that he does like with something that he doesn't like so I think moving forward you know maybe introduce something like that and you know see how he goes about that and what's so does you know so does are great they're delicious but you know we want to replace that with water so you know and that's gonna be hard but maybe you know going from like two sodas a day to one so to a day slowly bring it down how do you feel about that <2:51:54 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: you <2:52:09 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: okay <2:52:39 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: um I think that something definitely doable I think <2:52:48 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: is you know <2:52:49 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: I always buy the sodas and stuff so I guess you know I need to be better about <2:52:56 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: buying less of them or whatever you know I guess I have <2:53:01 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: control and I just it's just hard you know because you get to really frustrated and everything and like just you want to eat right and I don't really have just been hard it's just been really hard balancing all that but I think it's definitely something I can <2:53:02 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: yeah <2:53:11 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: you know <2:53:17 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: okay <2:53:18 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: you when I like kind of a <2:53:20 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: slower change you know he's not I can't just come to him and be like oh <2:53:24 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: here's a salad for dinner um but I think maybe working at it <2:53:26 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: yeah <2:53:28 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: yeah <2:53:30 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: right there might be a little bit better <2:53:31 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: yeah and I'm sorry that this has been difficult to kind of deal with and I know you're trying your I mean obviously a great parent to be here and trying to do this so I apologize for that but at the same time you know you're right you know doing it slowly with like some foods that he likes that are unhealthy with some that are healthy making those slowly will also teach him that it's okay and you know hopefully lower those temper tantrums as well I also want to see if he is ever outside playing with other kids you mentioned the you know getting picked on but does he ever have friends that he plays with <2:53:41 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: because <2:53:50 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: <2:53:58 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: here <2:54:03 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: director he's not really he's a little bit of a gamer and stuff I've tried to tell him to go outside and play but <2:54:14 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: he's you know I wouldn't say malicious the most outgoing he likes to play a lot of video games let me tell you he gets a soda goes in there and plays for your games for all night he's kind of living it right now you know I remember those days when I was a kid but he but he doesn't really go and play too much <2:54:31 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: okay sure yeah and does he have any activities that he kind of likes that are you know other than video games <2:54:38 PM> Patrick Ruz - Patient: um not really I haven't really put him in any sports or anything so honestly just hangs out of home and hangs with me <2:54:43 PM> Pedram Pouladvand - Doctor: mmm ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at Nov 25, 2025, 2:54:55 PM
