Patient: mm-hmm <7:05:06 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: um okay well <7:05:07 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: I mean I've been told before to like eat better and a little bit of exercise <7:05:11 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: I understand that like taking that money medications and so many of them can be frustrating what are some things that you think you could do to kind of help alleviate that burden like decrease the number of pills you have to take <7:05:33 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: it's always easier said than done <7:05:35 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: yeah sure making lifestyle changes can be really hard what Lifestyle Changes do you think you could make if that's something you're interested in doing in terms of stopping medications <7:05:50 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: you know <7:05:50 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: um <7:05:53 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: I've had <7:05:53 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: this ring around before with <7:05:56 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: with you guys and like you guys have been encouraging me to have a healthy diet but it's just not really possible like the grocery store that the healthy grocery store is really far away from me and it's like expensive and <7:06:09 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: it's just really hard to do the things that I know are good for me <7:06:11 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: yeah that's fair saying to make dye and lifestyle changes is definitely easier said than done like you said <7:06:15 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: I mean I kind of sit around all day so walking is an easy thing it's free and <7:06:21 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: um what kind of Lifestyle Changes are more attainable to you if not like necessarily how eating healthier <7:06:30 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: yeah how can you incorporate that into your life <7:06:38 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: require anything <7:06:40 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: um I guess I could like when I wake up in the morning go on like a 10 minute walk before starting my day <7:06:44 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: yeah that'd be a great way to go <7:06:51 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: I don't <7:06:51 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: um <7:06:54 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: um I know <7:06:56 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: diet and lifestyle are big changes how do you feel about staying on medications while also making those changes <7:07:07 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: mind I guess it would encourage me more to like have a healthier diet and exercise a little bit more if it means I could get off a few of these medications <7:07:16 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: yeah <7:07:17 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: honestly it's just like Habit to like out of habit <7:07:19 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: um what do you think is kind of holding you back from making those Lifestyle Changes since it sounds like you're really motivated to kind of get off the medications <7:07:28 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: normal <7:07:34 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: I don't really exercise and the to get groceries that are healthy are like really expensive and far away so that's <7:07:34 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: know <7:07:43 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: like hard and in and of its own but <7:07:46 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: I do want to get off these medications <7:07:49 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: and <7:07:50 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: yeah and it sounds like <7:07:51 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: that's the first step I could walk some more <7:07:58 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: you like understand the dangers of what could happen if these Medicaid if these conditions are untreated and it all sounds like you're really motivated to get off of the medications <7:07:58 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: but not <7:08:06 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: mm-hmm <7:08:10 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: certainly <7:08:11 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: need to make all the lifestyle changes yet which I understand of course like getting groceries from far away can be really hard it's expensive but it sounds like you're pretty motivated to make lifestyle changes at least so that you can stop taking the medications <7:08:26 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: um what do you think would happen if you didn't make those lifestyle changes though <7:08:27 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: right um <7:08:33 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: here <7:08:35 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: I mean I was just keep getting worse I would get <7:08:39 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: more fat and more sedentary and <7:08:40 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: yeah um <7:08:43 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: I'd probably have to get on more medications <7:08:47 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: and I don't want that <7:08:50 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: so it would just keep getting worse <7:08:53 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: I feel like that's something I could do <7:08:56 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: so 10 minutes of exercise in the morning do you feel like that's something that you could do <7:09:05 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: there are <7:09:05 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: yeah it still doesn't take away like how frustrated I feel with how many medications <7:09:12 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: are but it's a step <7:09:14 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: how do you feel about kind of <7:09:15 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: I think that's a good plan of like <7:09:18 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: newing where you're at right now and then adding lifestyle changes just to kind of see how things progress and then follow up more frequently <7:09:30 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: I would like to follow up more <7:09:33 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: that would be a motivator for me <7:09:35 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: mm <7:09:38 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: how do you feel like you can <7:09:40 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: kind of manage your medication since you said that you've had some issues making sure you take them all all the time <7:09:48 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: yeah <7:09:50 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: well it would help to have I guess I could help to have one of those pill pill <7:09:57 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: ruler things <7:09:59 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: that like you can put I can put all of them in once a week <7:10:02 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: do you feel like that would make you more motivated to at least take your medications or do you still feel like you might kind of <7:10:05 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: um <7:10:05 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: I think <7:10:14 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: ignore taking them <7:10:16 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: good <7:10:19 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: would help me because it takes a lot of time to like open and close all those bottles every morning and every night and sometimes those bottles are hard to open and then it just makes me not want to take it <7:10:31 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: and sometimes I also just forget so if I keep it out like on my bathroom sink or something then I would remember more <7:10:39 PM> Sabrina Mahanpour - Patient: um I think first thing is losing some weight <7:10:41 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: so in terms of like completely getting off of medications what other goals do you think you could have in order to help get you there <7:10:48 PM> Paul Hershberger - Patient: we'll stop here <7:10:50 PM> Jashlene Kaur - Doctor: okay ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at Dec 1, 2025, 7:10:58 PM
