patient: know after a few beers everything kind of just Blends together and <8:51:27 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: yeah I I can't tell you specific things but I just know it was a good time <8:51:33 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: mmm <8:51:38 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: I want to say like <8:51:39 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: here okay <8:51:42 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: start with like two or three but by the end of the night I I've lost track maybe like five or six Maybe <8:51:51 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: um and I know you mentioned it's a it's a great time and stuff how does that make you feel the next day <8:51:55 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: well on Sunday when I wake up I <8:52:06 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: you know <8:52:06 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: usually don't feel great but <8:52:09 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: right around brunch time we started drinking again <8:52:15 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: well Monday I guess it is a rough day but it's Monday you know it's it's usually tiring but I I kind of just pushed along during the week and look forward to the weekend again <8:52:17 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: so um <8:52:21 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: okay <8:52:22 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: so so you're okay so you're drinking over the weekend Saturdays and Sundays okay and you don't have work over the the weekend as I recall it's you start during the weekdays does that ever do those feelings ever carry on to Monday and make you feel some type of way throughout the week <8:52:49 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: yeah so um and I I know that it's you know a <8:52:56 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: I mean I think I'm doing great like I think my liver is great I eat well I exercise during the week like I do everything I'm supposed to so I don't see how just two days of drinking <8:53:01 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: short-lived thing that happens over the weekend and you have a great time and stuff and then you know you're back to it and it doesn't interfere with work as it sounds like but over the long term <8:53:14 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: you know <8:53:14 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: um I know that <8:53:16 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: with heavy alcohol sometimes it can lead to health problems how does that make you feel what do you think about that <8:53:40 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: it can affect my health <8:53:41 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: yeah and and you know you're right for you to see it that way and sometimes it's not exactly the number of days it can be the amount that we drink and put into our bodies what negative consequences do you see happening you know down the line not necessarily right now because you feel great <8:53:42 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: um <8:54:01 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: at this <8:54:05 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: I guess <8:54:05 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: I guess I can't do this forever <8:54:08 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: it might it might Slow Me Down <8:54:10 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: okay <8:54:12 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: but I I don't like if I if I retire once I retire I don't I don't need to be <8:54:17 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: okay you say you can't do this forever why what don't you like about this <8:54:19 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: energetic for the workweek so I I don't know <8:54:24 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: it does slow me down a little bit <8:54:34 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: um <8:54:35 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: maybe it could start to affect my work <8:54:36 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: if you didn't make any change <8:54:36 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: how <8:54:39 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: see that <8:54:40 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: looking like for you health-wise and everything <8:54:46 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: yeah <8:54:49 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: and I do want to keep my job <8:54:54 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: right now it's not but maybe it could <8:54:55 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: I mean what ways do you think that it could <8:54:58 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: I mean with how much I'm drinking on the weekends it's really hard to get up on Mondays and and function <8:55:10 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: yeah so <8:55:11 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: I think it can cause weight gain and that can cause a whole bunch of problems <8:55:13 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: with you know specific health problems you know I know we're talking about how it kind of makes you feel do you know of any health problems that the I know you mentioned your liver is fine <8:55:28 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: what health problems do you think it could cause if you continue <8:55:33 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: the way that you are <8:55:37 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: how <8:55:37 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: okay um and <8:55:41 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: I mean I don't want to gain weight <8:55:44 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: does that make you feel are you okay with some of the negative Health consequences are you not <8:55:57 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: yeah I mean I only do this because I it hasn't affected my health <8:55:59 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: yeah so what <8:56:08 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: if you were ready to change given you know everything we've discussed right now and how it would look like down the line even though you're doing great right now what number would you give on how ready you are to change right now <8:56:09 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: mmm <8:56:24 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: maybe a three <8:56:26 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: okay so it's it's not a zero why do you say three <8:56:27 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: um like I said I <8:56:36 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: I know it's not sustainable but I see no reason to stop right now right this moment <8:56:37 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: yeah <8:56:44 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: because I'm just trying to enjoy life <8:56:46 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: okay so like why not zero so you do kind of I mean you didn't give me a complete know so I was wondering what kind of made that number higher Y3 <8:56:47 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: well you're mentioning some of the health consequences and I don't want to completely ruin my health so <8:56:58 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: what would make you change that number to something higher than three <8:57:09 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: I mean if it was going to kill me <8:57:14 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: okay um <8:57:17 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: maybe I'd start <8:57:19 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: um I think when I drink on the weekends after that first round beers maybe I can cut back and not keep going throughout the night <8:57:22 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: and you know I know you said after talking about this you know kind of is making you think about and that's why you gave me a three <8:57:30 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: how would you go about beginning a change in the amount that you drink over the weekend <8:57:38 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: yeah <8:57:51 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: yeah I mean I mean my wife my kids I want to I want to be there for everything that they experience <8:57:52 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: I know that goes along with how you know the grogginess the next day and just long-term with your health is is there you know <8:58:02 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: anyone or anything that you care a lot for that you want to <8:58:02 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: be <8:58:07 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: here for and take care of your health <8:58:10 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: for <8:58:12 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: yeah <8:58:20 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: so I <8:58:20 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: and so far I've been able to <8:58:23 PM> Suga Saravanan - patient: continue to do that <8:58:24 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: you <8:58:24 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: yeah to me it sounds like you do care about those things and your health and <8:58:33 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: want to make a change you don't see your current activity affecting your current health right now but <8:58:42 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: seems like you understand that you know it may down the line <8:58:46 PM> Alex Johnston: yeah we can we can go ahead and stop right there <8:58:48 PM> Maram Abuhaidar- Doctor: so are we done ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at Jan 23, 2026, 8:58:55 PM
