doctor: I <7:51:12 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: yeah okay that's good um <7:51:14 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: no not really just hanging out with friends checking out new places <7:51:17 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: know at our last visit we talked about some of your habits and some of your just what you like to do on the weekends have any changes happen since the last time we talked <7:51:27 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: that's good <7:51:33 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: emotional yeah <7:51:36 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay that's good yeah I know briefly at our last visit we talked about you're drinking it has that about stayed the same since their last visit <7:51:37 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: mm-hmm <7:51:45 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay and how much are you drinking <7:51:46 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: it depends on the weekend most of it is I just do it on Saturdays and Sundays sometime Friday nights not during the day <7:51:48 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: oh no <7:51:58 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: probably like <7:52:01 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: 10 to 20 beers a day in the weekends so maybe like for the whole weekend like 20 to 30 beers <7:52:07 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: oh wow okay and you said you're drinking that with friends or is it by yourself <7:52:11 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: um friends just in like fun social settings never not by myself <7:52:16 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay and are they drinking the same amount too or are you the only one <7:52:20 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: around the same amount depends on the person with us <7:52:24 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay yeah so I hear you saying you're only drinking on the weekends never during the week is that right <7:52:29 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: mm-hmm <7:52:34 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: yeah and that's that's something good that we usually recommend to patients you were drinking a little bit more than we recommend so 10 to 20 drinks on the weekend that's pretty pretty significant usually for men it's about two beer or I think two to three drinks a week I think <7:52:39 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: mmm <7:52:52 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: um <7:52:55 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: it yeah have you had any negative side effects from drinking that often or that much <7:53:03 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: probably some weight gain and then maybe like just the morning after feeling a little groggy but nothing I can't handle <7:53:05 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay tell me more about the grogginess how does that make you feel or how does that usually happen the next morning <7:53:17 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: um you know you just wake up a little out of it a little tire you just have a lot less energy it doesn't really impact me though because Saturday and Sundays I'm not working so I can have a slower morning <7:53:20 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay yeah I hear you that makes sense and how does your wife feel about your drinking does she drink the same amount is she supportive <7:53:31 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: no it's not her favorite she prefer I not um <7:53:40 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay has that caused some arguments or fights in your relationships <7:53:45 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: he does not do it as so as I do so that's like also one of the main problems of the drinking <7:53:53 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: yeah she's just worried about my health <7:53:58 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay why do you think she's worried about her health <7:54:01 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: I know like long-term alcohol can have an impact on your health just like I said like the weight gain but <7:54:08 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay yeah I hear you there it's your one bad habit you're doing well in other terms of your health you're eating right are you exercising okay so that's kind of like your one bad habit is just the drinking on the weekends is that right <7:54:10 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: outside of the alcohol in the weekends I find that I'm relatively healthy person I try to eat healthy I try to exercise it's just one my one bad habit <7:54:29 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: mm-hmm <7:54:31 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: yeah <7:54:37 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay have you ever thought about reducing the amount that you're drinking and maybe that can make you feel better in terms of the weight gain maybe you're not as groggy <7:54:37 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: about what <7:54:41 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: mmm well some days on the weekends I don't drink as much as others is some days I do reduce it <7:54:55 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: just depends on the day I haven't really thought about it to be honest as long as I can just like enjoy social outings I'm so good <7:54:55 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay do you think you still enjoy social outings if say you reduce your drinking by maybe just cutting it in half or maybe just going down drinking like a third less would you still enjoy the weekends <7:55:07 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: possibly yeah but I think the problem is once you start kind of lose track of how much you're drinking <7:55:17 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay <7:55:24 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: uh no I'm pretty good about the weekdays like I don't really have that problem I it's easy for me to not drink on the weekdays so I don't think I've lost control <7:55:25 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: have you ever felt like you've lost control and you couldn't stop drinking even when you wanted to <7:55:30 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay have you ever gotten into like any legal troubles like maybe a DUI or driving while intoxicated or doing things you normally wouldn't do like acting aggressive or things like that <7:55:53 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: recently I probably got into like a bar Fighter 2 and I was in college but <7:55:54 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay <7:55:59 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay I see so <7:56:00 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: probably get two or three <7:56:02 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: how interested are you and maybe reducing your drinking on a scale of 1 to 10 right now <7:56:08 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay what do you think would get you up to maybe a five <7:56:15 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: um <7:56:18 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: if I saw proof that my health was <7:56:18 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: being <7:56:23 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: impacted by it currently <7:56:26 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay <7:56:26 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: I <7:56:27 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: mm-hmm <7:56:28 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: like I have my health under control otherwise <7:56:31 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay so I know you mentioned you were having a little bit of weight gain because of the drinking so do you think if you were maybe to gain more weight than that's something that would prompt you to think about quitting or reducing your amount or drinking <7:56:43 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: possibly maybe if I saw like <7:56:46 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: people <7:56:50 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: issues manifesting from the weight gain probably but right now I still feel like I'm at a weight that I'm not upset about <7:56:51 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay <7:56:56 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: hmm okay <7:57:00 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: um I think like it wouldn't really affect other aspects besides my relationship with my wife I think it make her a little happier but I think ideally for her she just want me to quit the drinking <7:57:02 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: what do you think would happen if you did reduce your drinking do you think your relationship with your wife would improve do you think you'd feel a little bit better on the weekends maybe have more energy how do you see your life if you were to quit drinking <7:57:23 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay is there anything that we can do at this appointment right now to kind of support you <7:57:31 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: I guess just monitoring to monitor my health and containing modern like any <7:57:33 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: okay yeah well we can definitely do that <7:57:40 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: like <7:57:41 PM> Zayneb Hussein - Patient: any like my heart or any thing that might be affected by the drinking just so I know I'm just so I'm on top of that <7:57:52 PM> Megan sharifi - doctor: that was it ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at Jan 28, 2026, 7:58:00 PM
