Doctor: so how um how have the medications been going for you <2:55:04 PM> Sydne - Patient: that was really it <2:55:11 PM> katie - Doctor: okay <2:55:12 PM> Sydne - Patient: um I think you know they're going okay since we increase them I guess yeah there seem to be helping a little bit <2:55:22 PM> Sydne - Patient: since we increased it I feel like <2:55:25 PM> Sydne - Patient: maybe <2:55:25 PM> Sydne - Patient: feeling a little bit better <2:55:28 PM> Sydne - Patient: be <2:55:29 PM> Sydne - Patient: you know since before you know it was in a really bad place then so definitely a little bit better <2:55:29 PM> Sydne - Patient: not <2:55:38 PM> Sydne - Patient: perfect but maybe that's just normal I don't know I feel like everyone has a little bit of depression and anxiety you know I feel like that's just like normal stuff <2:55:49 PM> Sydne - Patient: so <2:55:50 PM> Sydne - Patient: it's it's going fine <2:55:52 PM> katie - Doctor: okay I'm glad things seem to be going better how would you say your mood has been over the past few weeks <2:55:53 PM> Sydne - Patient: oh well I mean <2:56:01 PM> katie - Doctor: I'm sorry about your roommate why <2:56:04 PM> Sydne - Patient: past few weeks have been hard my mood not great I'd yeah the past week has been hard my roommate moved out <2:56:13 PM> Sydne - Patient: I've been pretty depressed I would say <2:56:16 PM> Sydne - Patient: uh they moved across the country new job <2:56:21 PM> katie - Doctor: why did she move why did they move out <2:56:29 PM> Sydne - Patient: yeah so just feeling very lonely and isolated and <2:56:35 PM> Sydne - Patient: yeah <2:56:35 PM> Sydne - Patient: super helpless right now so <2:56:39 PM> Sydne - Patient: but I have a new job coming up and <2:56:44 PM> Sydne - Patient: you know <2:56:46 PM> Sydne - Patient: got a lot of my plate right now so I got a I got got to get this medication refilled and just got to get back on track <2:56:57 PM> katie - Doctor: um do you have people in your life that you can talk to if you when you're feeling really lonely or hopeless <2:56:59 PM> Sydne - Patient: um <2:57:09 PM> Sydne - Patient: not really <2:57:12 PM> Sydne - Patient: a few friends in town I don't really talk to them about this kind of stuff though <2:57:19 PM> Sydne - Patient: uh yeah I feel like no one really wants to hear like you know pity party so I try to just keep that to myself <2:57:28 PM> Sydne - Patient: um <2:57:30 PM> katie - Doctor: do you think if you had someone to talk to that would help you kind of process some of these feelings <2:57:37 PM> katie - Doctor: mm-hmm <2:57:38 PM> Sydne - Patient: maybe yeah I mean it helps I guess like after we have our appointments <2:57:46 PM> Sydne - Patient: and talk through like medication changes and things like that sometimes I come out feeling a little bit better <2:57:55 PM> Sydne - Patient: so yeah um <2:57:57 PM> Sydne - Patient: yeah sometimes I talk to my family which helps a little bit <2:58:02 PM> Sydne - Patient: so <2:58:03 PM> Sydne - Patient: yeah I wish I had more more friends in the area that I'd be more open to talking to <2:58:08 PM> katie - Doctor: hmm so I know <2:58:11 PM> Sydne - Patient: oh right you know I I honestly forgot about that um you know things have just been really hard and <2:58:15 PM> katie - Doctor: just kind of summarizing that we last time we talked we increase the dose of your meds which seems to be helping and then you've talked a little bit about lots and more stressors I think all so last time we discussed the potential of you trying to go to a there to try and go to a therapist and have and talk to someone about your feelings <2:58:39 PM> katie - Doctor: how are you feeling about that <2:58:44 PM> katie - Doctor: mmm <2:58:53 PM> Sydne - Patient: I've just never you know really thought about doing that I'm not that familiar with like therapists <2:59:00 PM> Sydne - Patient: haven't heard great things about them from people like I don't know <2:59:05 PM> Sydne - Patient: I've never heard great things in people like benefiting from them so <2:59:06 PM> katie - Doctor: that's okay um I'm just bringing it up because you kind of were discussing <2:59:11 PM> Sydne - Patient: I don't know I just never really took the initiative <2:59:15 PM> Sydne - Patient: yeah <2:59:17 PM> Sydne - Patient: so my bad I I didn't really follow up on that doc sorry about that <2:59:29 PM> katie - Doctor: sometimes you know we have different strategies to help with our mood and our feelings medications are a great one but more than like I can provide you in this visit but a therapist could help kind of talk about strategies just kind of talk through your feelings work through your feelings <2:59:49 PM> katie - Doctor: and sometimes it takes a little while to like find a therapist you like but <2:59:55 PM> katie - Doctor: it is possible does that how do you feel about finding it their potentially going to talk to someone now <3:00:00 PM> Sydne - Patient: um <3:00:03 PM> katie - Doctor: mm-hmm <3:00:05 PM> Sydne - Patient: yeah I mean <3:00:07 PM> Sydne - Patient: I'm still a little bit hesitant Maybe <3:00:11 PM> Sydne - Patient: I don't know that that just sound <3:00:14 PM> Sydne - Patient: sounds like that sounds hard that sounds like <3:00:17 PM> Sydne - Patient: I don't know nerve-wracking <3:00:20 PM> Sydne - Patient: I don't know maybe I'm I might consider it <3:00:22 PM> katie - Doctor: okay is there anything <3:00:26 PM> Sydne - Patient: it well <3:00:29 PM> katie - Doctor: um you think it's <3:00:33 PM> katie - Doctor: a new for wanting to take the next step to meet with someone <3:00:40 PM> Sydne - Patient: I think just hearing more about it from you is helpful like what they actually do you know I've heard from people in the past that they like <3:00:48 PM> katie - Doctor: mm-hmm <3:00:51 PM> Sydne - Patient: there's different types of therapy <3:00:51 PM> Sydne - Patient: and <3:00:55 PM> Sydne - Patient: I don't know I guess <3:00:56 PM> katie - Doctor: yeah <3:00:58 PM> Sydne - Patient: you know <3:00:58 PM> Sydne - Patient: to use you're mentioning like talking through feelings which I guess could be helpful for me like I didn't know that they did that I thought like <3:01:06 PM> Sydne - Patient: know they I've heard of like exposure therapy and things like that so like I don't want to do that so like that's kind of why I haven't been going to a therapist because I thought I'd have to do like crazy things and like things I don't want to do so <3:01:15 PM> katie - Doctor: mm-hmm <3:01:19 PM> Paul Hershberger: we'll stop here <3:01:23 PM> Sydne - Patient: but I think I'd be more willing to consider like talking just through my feelings because that sounds <3:01:30 PM> Sydne - Patient: helpful ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at Mar 12, 2026, 3:01:38 PM
