Doctor: actually <1:36:21 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: I feel like taking these medications just <1:36:25 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: places where <1:36:25 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: makes me feel like <1:36:28 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: like I'm broken and I need these medications and without them like I want to prove I I don't want to <1:36:36 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: have to take them <1:36:36 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: and <1:36:37 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: he <1:36:38 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: plus they're confusing to take and their I have to take them all throughout the day and take breaks in my day to take them <1:36:42 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: even defined <1:36:46 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: so <1:36:47 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: <1:36:48 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: yeah I'll be honest I just have not been the best at taking them <1:36:52 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: I definitely am missing them <1:36:52 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: certain things <1:36:54 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: it sounds like the medications are having a lot of impact in your life as far as throwing off your routine and kind of mentally how it's impacting you <1:37:06 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: how has not taking your medications or the times that you've missed medication how is that impacted you <1:37:10 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: well yeah I mean when I when I don't take the medications <1:37:15 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: here <1:37:23 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: my blood pressure runs higher which I know it isn't good <1:37:23 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: this question <1:37:26 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: vegetables <1:37:29 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: and <1:37:30 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: it's the plan <1:37:32 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: you know sometimes I <1:37:33 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: here <1:37:35 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: sometimes I feel a little bit worse when my sugar gets too high but <1:37:39 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: exactly <1:37:39 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: um <1:37:41 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: overall <1:37:43 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: 30 minutes <1:37:45 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: oh I know I I know it's affecting me when I'm not taking it but it's also affecting me when I take it too <1:37:46 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: remember the name of the program <1:37:50 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: here <1:37:52 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: yeah I would agree <1:37:54 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: so it sounds like <1:37:58 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: there are cons to both sides of this the the amount of medications you have is having a negative impact but also not taking your medications is also having different kinds of negative impact <1:38:12 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: what would you <1:38:15 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: what do you mean <1:38:19 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: like to see as far as <1:38:23 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: how the medication impacts your life as well as managing your health <1:38:28 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: people <1:38:30 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: he wanted <1:38:32 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: yeah I I think if there's if there's just ways for me to have to take less medications that would be really good or <1:38:32 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: so <1:38:35 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: you you talk about taking all these medications you know it it throws off your day it's it impacts you making it makes it feels if you are someone who is sick or in your own words you said broken <1:38:47 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: of what are your thoughts for how <1:38:52 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: know managing your health conditions with medications what would it look like where <1:38:56 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: the act of using your medications doesn't impact your life so negatively in ways you describing and we can also you know work to address your health concerns that kind of come to the surface when you don't take your medication <1:39:09 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: but actually <1:39:20 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: period <1:39:23 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: if there's ways <1:39:25 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: here <1:39:26 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: it yeah I think that that would be really helpful to me I was able to take less medications <1:39:33 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: well <1:39:35 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: so it sounds like you <1:39:38 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: considered maybe ways <1:39:40 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: he wouldn't have to add meds you could still you know have your health managed what things have you considered that aren't medication that you could you can do to address your your health needs <1:39:55 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: for me actually but <1:39:56 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: yeah I mean I know I need to eat better and I know I need to exercise more <1:40:02 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: to <1:40:05 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: I probably haven't been doing those things as good as I should have been <1:40:05 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: of course said okay tell me a little bit more about that what <1:40:09 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: yeah I mean I think I've thought about just starting walking more <1:40:15 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: things have you considered regarding exercise and what steps may be have you taken towards you know incorporating some exercise into your daily life <1:40:29 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: on the right <1:40:34 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: he may be taking a couple walks around the neighborhood things like that would be a step that I'd like to take <1:40:35 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: he <1:40:43 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: um <1:40:44 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: do you think that that's helpful <1:40:48 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: I would think that would be helpful yeah getting the the first step is the hardest right what things do you think maybe are holding you back from incorporating walks into your daily routine <1:40:48 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: it's just life just feels like it gets in the way I feel like I just get too busy sometimes <1:40:48 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: and <1:41:08 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: and I'm just not prioritizing it well enough <1:41:10 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: to get food <1:41:14 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: 15 months into the video <1:41:15 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: but maybe if I start <1:41:19 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: just trying to plan it into my day more I can start doing it more <1:41:24 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: okay so it sounds like <1:41:29 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: you you've been considering things you can do exercise wise that could maybe be helpful and maybe it's just you know that that push you need to start start influencing that <1:41:41 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: yeah yeah I would agree with that <1:41:42 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: and sorry go ahead <1:41:45 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: okay <1:41:47 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: where <1:41:47 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: so say on a scale of one to ten one not already to make a change in 10 <1:41:47 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: well it's already been a thing that I've <1:41:57 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: think you might fall with regards to you know implementing maybe some physical activity in into your routine <1:42:05 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: you <1:42:08 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: thought about for a while that I wanted to do <1:42:09 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: mm-hmm <1:42:12 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: he <1:42:13 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: probably <1:42:13 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: I think I'm pretty motivated to do it it's just about whether I'm actually going to do it or not <1:42:20 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: friendly <1:42:20 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: okay <1:42:20 PM> Paul Hershberger: we'll stop here <1:42:20 PM> Jed Speers - Patient: a probably a seven or an eight <1:42:24 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: it's great <1:42:26 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: um <1:42:28 PM> Ian Vannix - Doctor: sure ________________________________________________________________________________ End of transcript at Mar 13, 2026, 1:42:33 PM
